I went to Pala last year and it was excellent. But I only attended the race on Saturday.

I want to get a 2 day pass for Friday and Saturday, do the pros get a press day or free practice on Friday?? All I can find it says amateur racing is on Friday.  Do the pros only ride on Saturday??

Thanks in advance!

I think last year press was Thursday but I may be wrong. Pretty sure the ams hit the track Friday and maybe Sunday like most spots. We will be there Thursday night in the casino parking lot ready to get this season started!

There doesn’t seem to be anything going on Thursday?  And no mention of Pro press day or free practice?  The additional day is almost $50 bucks so I’m probably going to skip Friday.

The one day ticket is already expensive as it is.  I paid $95 last year with fees, this year it comes to $122.

Yeah I always thought Amateur racing was the day afterwards!  I thought the 3 day pass would be Friday through Sunday.  Last year was my first national in over 15 years.  I used to go to Glen Helen in early 2000’s every year.   A lot has changed.  Even the pits they kicked me out before the races even started.  LOL what type of pit pass is only good until noon? (During qualifying) but it is what it is!

I can’t find anything on when press day or free practice is.  My buddy said it’s just Saturday morning before Race Day Live.

Yeah if they are doing press it won’t be Saturday morning. The main reason for it is the press to get in and toss some stuff on the news to generate more ticket sales.

"Looking ahead to next weekend, the Racer X Pro Motocross Preview Shows, hosted by Jason Weigandt, Steve Matthes, and Jason Thomas, will run all week here on Racer X Online. There will also be a press conference next Friday afternoon at the Pala Casino, followed by a press day ride. That will be our first chance to catch a glimpse of everyone outdoors together."

As far as Free Practice goes, should be Saturday morning like always, I would think...

Thank you both!   Is press day limited to like a dozen riders like Supercross?  Last year I showed up around like 9:30am and missed the first qualifying sessions.  I might just do Saturday again.  But show up EARLY.

Thanks for the info!  So the pros practice after the amateur racing is done I assume..

I’ll be making my decision tonight and order tickets.  I appreciate all your help!

And over $30 for a measley three hour pit pass. I'm gonna pay it but I sure as shit like the supercross version of a pit pass better ( a monster can)! Lucky to be working out here this year. We will get to attend the first two rounds, maybe three if I drag ass heading home and catch Colorado also!!

I agree.  Thankfully last year I went in the pits during qualifying.  But my plan was to go see all the bikes in between Moto’s 1 and 2.  But I got denied!  lol there were still dozens of people walking in, I’m like did I buy the wrong pass?!?

I had the black which was only good until noon.  This year I will prepare to get kicked out at noon!
