Well, that was a long two weeks, I have to admit; Loretta's and then Walton. By the time the National rolled around Sunday morning, I had very little left in the proverbial tank. It's hard to believe that the 2010 Canadian season has now come and gone. The season-ending party went well into the wee hours of the morning and I think, if you ask a member of the Lee Family, they'll be the first to say "Good riddance!" to all of us. Bottom line, people really need to grow up and treat other people's property http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xGuGSDsDrM with more respect than was shown Saturday and Sunday night.

On to the races:

I would like to start off by giving mention to Rob Westenber for his tireless commitment to helping riders when they crash. If you were at the races all week you know who I mean and why I'm mentioning him here. In one Intermediate race Saturday, Nicky Beatty got all stuck up in another bike's back wheel/fender and couldn't get himself out while the pipe was just burning into him. Rob was there well before the dust settled and yanked the bike off of him saving Nicky from any further damage that was sure to happen. I spoke to Beatty on Sunday and he really couldn't thank Rob enough for jumping in there like he did. Great job Rob and a big "Thank You" from everyone there. The guy is the track St. Bernhard. :!

Here's the damage that was done to Beatty in the fall. Just a little quicker next time please Rob.

Also, big thanks to Billy Whitley for organizing the charity golf tournament again on Friday. It was a blast, as always, and raised a bunch of cash for the Injured Riders Fund. I also heard he bought all the beer that was on the course...dammit, why did I bring my own???
You've probably heard the saying that goes, "No matter how hot the girl is you bring to an event, Josh Demuth will show up with a hotter one!" Well...

This shot pretty much sums up how serious the actual golf portion of the event is.
PS Why no mention of who won the long drive contest???

I couldn't resist taking this pic as there are three Keast family members milling about exchanging Tim Horton's product. Thanks for reinforcing the stereotype guys. Grinning

There's always lots going on before the racing starts on a Sunday morning. Here's Travers 'speeding' this lift into place.

It's nice to see Kyle Beaton back at the track.

Check out Nathan Bles signing autographs with two broken arms under the Orange Motorsports tent. haha

Mark Perrin of MPI was busy all week keeping the TransCan running smoothly. I believe he was up all night trying to repair the damage some idiots did to the big tent Saturday night. How about a little respect folks?!

American, Travis Sewell, has done the last two races of the season. He said he did the last one because it was a week off in the US schedule and then did this one because he had so much fun. I think he raced Unadilla the day before as did Michael Willard. His brother, Shane, was also there. Here he is checking out the action.

The grounds were packed all week and even more so on Sunday. It really looked like something big was going on!

There were a lot of yellow-plated bikes trying to make the Pro races Sunday. Duroy KTM's Michael DaSilva won two titles on 80's during the week and then lined up and qualified for the MX2 Pro class Sunday. Cool!

He had a first-turn crash in moto one and pulled off and then raced hard in the second.

Here's Kuli's new Facebook Profile pic as he pushes Jeremy Medaglia's Orange Motorsports KTM to the line. Yes, I have it in 'hi-res' for you Todd. :D

There were lots of pretty girls in attendance, including these two.

#194 Richard Grey continued with his strong starts in moto one and pulled a nice holeshot. He had some troubles and moved to the back. He ended up in 23rd overall.

American Greg Durivage raced a Honda with a big #1 on it all week and then raced this #50 KTM on Sunday. Beats me. His strong 8th place in moto one gave him 13th overall. I feel your pain, Steve, looking at the results and trying to figure out what he got for zero points in the second moto. #-o

Last year's Bronze Boot winner Alex LaLiberté went 12-12 for 10th. Kaven tried to bring him onto our video show but I believe his English is even worse than my French.

#16 Red Bull Yamaha Blackfoot Fox rider Kyle Beaton had a great second moto getting 3rd and placing 6th overall.

#26 Blackfott Direct Yamaha's Jared Allison finished the year out strong going 4-7 for 5th overall. Brother, Parker, ended up 7th.

Orange Motorsports KTM rider Jeremy Medaglia raced hard all day and took 4th. He ended up grabbing 3rd overall in the MX2 Championship.

Leading Edge Kawasaki rider Shawn Rife was back in action this weekend and took the top spot on the podium by getting 3rd and 1st.

Teammate #1 Teddy Maier finished second on the day and second in the championship.

Red Bull Yamaha Blackfoot Fox rider Tyler Medaglia played it smart all day, finished 3rd but took home his first National Championship! Congratulations, Tyler.

I cut Randy out of the last pic with her so I feel I owe him this one. OSmile

Is she in there telling him her 'Tractor Story?' Grinning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t26o3PWLA-o

One minute she's sitting at our table, then Kuli says something, then she's gone. Classic. Just messing with you Todd. 8)

#15 Kerim Fitz-Gerald rode both classes and Royal Distributing KTM rider Kyle McGlynn switched to the MX1 class on Sunday.

Travis's brother #351 Shane Sewell also raced Walton on Sunday and got 7th overall.

#546 Kevin Urquhart finished in 9th place and had a very strong showing Sunday night.

Speaking of 'strong,' yipes!

#134 is Travis Sewell. He finished in 4th by getting 5-3 finishes. He had a great battle with Bobby Kiniry for a while in the second moto.

#573 Kyle Stephens lined up but is clearly having some 'arm pump' issues. He pulled off at one point in the first moto, scored 2 points in the second, and got 23rd on the day.

#207 Josh Maidman gave it a go on Sunday and finished 33rd.

#135 Cernics Kawasaki rider Josh Demuth finished in 5th place overall. He was in the thick of the action in the second moto.

#9 Machine Racing Honda's Kyle Keast crashed hard in the first moto and ripped his rad apart. He finished 9th in the second moto and got 14th OA. I believe he'll have a big #4 on his bike next year.

Freddy Karrle proved he is a cool dude Sunday night and finished 6th OA on Sunday afternoon.

#32 Royal Distributing KTM's Kornel Nemeth finished the year strong. He took 3rd on the day and second in the championship. I really wish I could post some of the pics from Sunday night. Kornel is hilarious!

#3 OTSFF Suzuki rider Bobby Kiniry won the overall on Sunday and finished 3rd in the championship again. He decided it wasn't quite time for Dusty Klatt to make this pass.

He also took home the sword as King of Walton.

I think this is a fan of his???

Red Bull Yamaha Blackfoot Fox rider Dusty Klatt rode hard and proved why he took the championship. He fell a couple times in the first moto and just kept battling back up. He won the second moto and finished 2nd Sunday.

The prize was always this thing though that he keeps just out of Bobby's reach. Grinning

Tyler Medaglia took home the $10,000 Macs Couche Tard money as top point-getter.

Nemeth was very popular on stage as he threw out a big back of swag to the crowd.

The Parts Canada East/West Shootout went to the East this year and to Captain Bradley Dool.

And that was it for the racing. It was then on to the 'Night Program' where things would prove to get a little weird. :v After a long, tough season, Ryan Lockhart turned down the intensity a wee bit.

Kate McKerroll, or as I call her, Carol McKate, made off with some coffee-flavoured Monster and didn't think we saw her. We did.

We then all walked over to the huge tent for dinner and some well-deserved drinks.

Ryan took it upon himself to MC the evening's festivities and did a fantastic job of it. Kornel decided he should be involved too.

I just watched as this elderly gentleman walked around in a pool of water dragging an electrical cord around. Pfft, I woulda helped AFTER I got the shot! OSmile

Brett Lee had a brilliant idea so Ryan grabbed the top 10 MX1 riders up on stage for a beer-chugging contest. It was 'won' by Kiniry but I question the amount that actually went in his mouth. #-o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-6qSssl0zc&feature=related

The infamous 'fake leg' made its' usual appearance and must have touched Ryan to make him drink from it.

There were several 'push-up contests' throughout the night.

Ryan put this super-cool 'sweater coat' on for the remainder of the evening.

And Gopher Dunes's Derek Schuster decided to give Brett Lee the Don Shula treatment.

I thought this was hilarious that the bottle was completely taped to 'her' hand.

Now obviously I can't post all of the crazy photos of the nonsense that went on late into the night but these give you a good look at how much fun it was to let loose after a long season of working hard and going to bed early. It was good clean fun and I hope the ones I DID post are cool with all those involved.

With that, we are finished another season of pro racing here in Canada. Thanks for the great times everyone and I look forward to seeing you all again at the MXoN, Montreal SX, or next June in BC.

See you at the races...

Thanks to our cool sponsors for the week and the ones from all summer long:

Great job Bill! Kornel is a laugh that's for sure....but only to a certain point. And those 2 old guys with the cord, hose, and ginger ale... there's no way we were helping them if anything happened! We were both too busy laughing, and trying to figure out what the Hell they were doing! I really enjoyed being called a bitch by the Newf! Thanks Bill! 8) LOL!!!

GREAT, as always, Billy!

Thanks for all your reports this year. I'm glad things worked out and you were able to get this done for us.

You're The Man in terms of reporting CanMX.

Sheldon
