hey techies, i need help reformatting my C drive. I can't find the XP install disc, i don't think BB gave it to me when they pre-installed my software. I can't find the create boot up cd option on my pc. where should i go to find this in my pc? I found setup boot disks on microsofts site, but is this the full win xp i can re-install after reformatting my hard drive clean? i really don't want to have to re-buy xp if i don't have to. oh yeah, anyone have an easy way to save my browser bookmarks (IE & Firefox)? Thanks for the help, this is such a headache. If it were up to me, i'd just go buy a new pc, have all my files on an external already...
IE: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites

do you have another computer in the house? if you do set that computer hardrive to master and take the harddrive out of the messed up pc and set the jumper to make it a slave. copy all the files you need and and reverse the process above
I'm pretty sure you need the xp setup disc to run the recovery console option. Did you try to boot it to the last known good configuration?
