How old is your son? In my experience it tends to work better with the older kids 10+. For younger kids it tends to be a distraction/sensory overload unless you are giving short commands/tips very sparingly such as if you’re working on making sure he gets his leg out in one specific corner only saying “leg out” right before that corner and nothing else the rest of the lap.
Are you always going to be on the bike as well? If not, you need to at least consider getting yourself a packtalk edge to use with the Edgephones they offer. I think the mesh works a lot better than the Bluetooth connection You'll get with the Spirit.
He's 10. No matter what it would be short commands like you said, leg out , stand, outside or inside line.
Most tracks we go to practice at will not let people stand near the track. So it's hard for me to tell him or remind him of simple stuff.
No. That's a good thought. And this is why I asked. I thought all the cardo models could work with the headphones. It wouldn't be a total deal breaker if I had to wear my helmet all the time. At certain tracks we practice at I'm allowed to be in the track or sometimes I just cruise to spots/ turns he wants help at

Yeah. You’ll need an air mount based unit so either the edge or the pro I believe. If you’re only going to use it for off-road/dirt bike the pro isn’t going to be worth the upgrade either so the edge is gonna be your best bet. If you’re only using it at the track, the only downside to having your kid in a BT only unit will likely be pairing every time you turn them on. With the mesh it should be automatic.
Ok this is good info. I'll do more research. Thanks for helping
No experience with the spirit, but use the Neo on the street and really like it. Only downside is mounting the speakers and mic in the helmet can be a pain (unless the helmet has the speaker cutouts).
Packtalk helmet kit for him and get you a pair of Edgephones. I sell the stuff and can hook you up if you'd like
