I originally started shooting MX back during the Saddleback days. I got a good tax return one year and picked up a Minolta 35mm SLR. I'd seen something things at races that I wanted to try and capture. My first published shot was a full-pager of Mark Barnett that ran in Motocross Action in what...'80? '82?
Also, that was while I was still racing BMX, and I think I was in the middle of a string of seven broken collarbones and it was starting to become apparent that looking for another line of work would be a better idea. Photography seemed ideal.
I got quite a lot of my photo education from Bob Osborn, who was the publisher at BMX Action magazine back when I was working there. Taking what he taught me, plus probably 20 years of experience since then, and that's what you get here in the photo galleries.

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
I think the shutter on my current Mark II is rated for 250,000 actuations, and it blew up a while back. I've had at least eight film camera bodies, and three or four digital bodies over that span.
