I do think you guys could work on your reading for comprehension. He did say profit.

I'm guessing that Justin's dad knows how much was paid for the bike, and he can keep an eye on the sales price, and know the difference between the two. If the whole exercise raises a dollar, I'd guess that's more than most of you have contributed so far.

If you can read it is clear. Most importantly it was very clear to the Weeks family and all involved with the auction. Let me ask you guys something. Who the hell are you to criticize me for trying to do something good for this kid? What are you doing? You act like I'm doing something wrong. I am trying to rake up a large sum of money for this kid I am taking NOTHING from it except what I have invested. That's it! Someone can delete this now. I know myself and so do Justin and his family that I was trying to do something good. I'm sorry you guys see it a different way. I will continue to try to move the bike and when I do I will take care of Justin. If you are serious about the bike or want to talk to me about any of this, contact me.

Thank you GuyB. I know you don't get to see or know anything about the person behind the computer when you are on a message board. I hate to be judged by people who know nothing about me or what my honest intentions are with this

How much profit was there going to be in a $6,000 bike ?
6 000$

If he has pay the bike 3 000$. They already have 3 000$ in their pocket and the profit will be 3 000$. 3 000 + 3 000 = 6 000

If he sell the bike for 7 000 and he has pay 4 000$ the family will have 7 000$. They already have 4 000$ + 3 000$ of profit. It's the sale price again.... magic

What do you mean how much profit? What if I have 4k in it or 5k in it? That is still $1000-$2000 that goes to Justin. Sounds like a good donation to me! I am in the bike to where I am going to be able to donate a good amount to him. If I wasn't I wouldn't have put a month of my time into this.

I applaud you for helping, I was just under the assumption that it was Justin Weeks bike and people would be buying it thinking 100% would go to him.

My mistake for misreading or yours for misleading, I don't think I'm the only one though.

Good luck on the sale.

It sounds great your trying to help but I think the original message was a little misleading. When I read the original message weeks ago it seemed like you were listing the bike for Justin and it was a Factory bike.

What happened was you bought the bike for your own personal use from the family which is fine and now want to sell it because you need money-which is fine also-no big deal and any extra over what you paid goes to him-which is good also-you don't have to do that.

The thing is your using his name and listing a bunch of companies behind you to push the sale of the bike higher so you can give "profit" to him-which is all fine.

I guess we just felt like a little more disclosure is all. Still a good thing your doing though but I think it just came across as this is a Factory bike that is worth a lot of money and all the proceeds go to him. If it was worth a lot of money then how did you get it so cheap? Again, we don't have to buy it or bid on it. The bike is what it is and maybe not a bad price especially with all the extras thrown in.

Just maybe a little more upfront which may or may not have affected the selling price.

What if you bought it for $5000 and it's now worth $4000?

Now you're wanting someone to pay $7000 so you can help Justin.

What if you got a good deal and payed $3000 and it's worth $4000? Then people would know you've already put up a $1000 of your own money.

This is why it is important to know what your investment is.

I'm going to call Justin's dad, talk to my wife and make a decision on whether or not to re-list the bike. I apologize that some of you feel like you were misled. I can promise you that was not my intent. Of course I talked the bike up. I did that because 1, the bike is everything I am saying and more, 2 it comes with an amazing amount of parts and extras and 3 because of course I wanted it to bring as much as possible so I could help Justin. It has now turned into a major stress factor for myself and has put unwanted stress on everyone involved. I tried to simply do something good for someone. The profit in this for me was to do something good and give back. I hope you guys will try to understand that and try to fathom that maybe that is all there is to it.

Sorry if you think I was bashing but like level said in the original post it sure seems like you were selling this for the family. My reading comprehention is just fine thank you.
By the way I will have donated a bit. More than a dollar when I get home later.

Well Cygnus it is for his family. Unfortunately we are not well off enough to give up what we have in the bike but everything we did that had to do with the auction, all the time it took to put it together and the profit was for Justin. I guess it's all in how you look at it.

No problem it is ok. I hope you can sell it for a tidy profit. But you were a little pushy after you already had a sticky and started multiple threads about it. Agreed?

Yeah, the thing is if you paid let's say $4000 for the bike and you think it's worth $8000 because of the type of bike it is and all the extra's then why didn't you pay more for it when you bought it for yourself? Just sounds like your passing on a good deal you got for a bad deal for someone else even though it's to help someone out.

I understand your going to give the profits to the family which is great but you should come out of your own pocket for what you think it's worth because you already bought it and then you can sell it.

I know your intentions are good and not bashing-just giving you an outside perspective is all. Good luck and let's all remember and hope that Justin has a good recovery.

level, I bought the bike without a lot of the extras. The extras came along as I started raking up things for the auction. Justin's dad for example gave me a lot of stuff to add in from their collection, Magnum MX put up about a grand worth of stuff, magazine guys donated signed stuff, Justin signed some stuff and I added stuff that I had. That's why I don't have 8k in it. I have a very fair amount in it but others stepped in and wanted to donate things too. Before you even ask, they all know exactly what I have in the bike.

I'm just glad you are clarifying everything. Nothing wrong with trying to get more out of the bike than what you paid. You went into a lot of effort rounding up extra stuff for it so you can sell it for more to help Justin out which is good. I hope you can get more than what you paid so you can help the family out a little. Unfortunately the market is aweful on used bikes right now so not sure if you will but maybe someone will step up and find some value in the bike and it will be good fit for them.

Good luck. I think your intentions are good no doubt and you had to use some salesman skills to hype the bike up-which is fine. Guess we were all a little confused. We were more under the impression you were listing the bike for the family and it was a Factory bike.

No big deal anymore though. Hopefully you can get rid of it and help yourself out and the family a little. If not then you got a good bike for yourself it sounds like.

Wow, I know this is an old post but I just found it. I think that everyone is forgetting something here and correct me if I am wrong. Didn't the guy buy the bike from Justin already? So say he paid 5K for the bike the family already has 5K for the bike. The guy is selling the bike, will cover his cost and give even more to the family so if he sells it for 7K then Justin and his dad now have 7K.

You guys are idiots and if any of you had any balls you'd post with your real names and not hide behind a message board name.

Hope it all works out. Justin is a great kid.

As probably everyone on here knows I have been working for about a month on this auction to support Justin Weeks. With help of so many people, websites, magazines, etc we put it together and started the auction. The auction ended at $7,000 which was pretty good. So the auction ends and I try to contact the winner who had already called me many times previous to the auction ending expressing how badly he wanted the bike. I told him to put his bid in and hope for the best. So he wins and I'm trying to get ahold of him to set up payment and pickup and I am having zero luck. Of course at this point I am both getting sick and pissed worrying that a deadbeat has won the auction. Long story short, after three days of tracking this punk down his dad finally calls me last night and tells me his son doesn't have the money! He says he bid on it thinking he could borrow the money he needed from the bank and they turned him down! I can't even tell you how sick I am as I am writing this knowing that some lowlife has done this.

I had 44 bids on this bike and over 9000 views! I figured I would offer it to the other bidders as there were probably 6 bidders between 5k and $6900. Well amazingly everyone has either bought another bike or whatever. It amazes me the amount of people who wanted this bike not only for the amazing machine they were getting but also for the cause of it all, to help the Weeks' . Now all of the sudden no one has the money to pay for it.

That brings me to what I have to do now to move the bike. I don't know whether to re-list it or what so here is what I am going to propose to everyone on here and the other boards.... I will sell this bike with ALL the extra that were listed in the auction for $6,000 or I will sell it with everything MINUS the DNA wheels and hubs for $5,000. Keep in mind you still get all the plastic, parts, tires, sticker kits, jerseys, shirts, and the $1,000 in parts of your choice from Magnum MX!!! Guys this is an amazing deal. DO NOT contact me until you have your money ready and your wife, dad, mom, dog, etc know that you are buying the bike. Contact me at 606-484-0889 and lets turn this into a positive for Justin Weeks!

If this does not work out I am probably going to put it all back up on eBay. I will post the link if I decide to do so. We are in the process of moving and I have very limited time to move the bike. Scottie if you would sticky this I would really appreciate it. Just until I move it. Thanks

hey 381 fan, first of all, ebay will take care of that non paying buyer. he will get a strike against them or something of that nature. second of all, contact the other bidders if you havent yet and offer them a second chance. if no go, relist it again and make sure if someone is bidding, check their feedback out. youll know who's who by doing that. you can set a block against some bidders. also,i dont know who justin weeks is, but i think its cool your helping your buddy out. that shows true friendship. best of luck to ya....dd..

Well this is long over with now but thanks guys. The Ebay deal really took a hit when the first bidder screwed us. I sold the bike and pretty much broke even. Well lost money if you want to take into consideration the time, phone calls, driving etc. I do still have some parts and things that the guy gave me back and I plan on selling all that once we get settled after our move. I'm just really bummed it didn't turn out like we all hoped it would.... Justin is doing better and better everyday and that is the good news now. Please continue to support him and send donations if you can. I also have a box full of shirts I need to open and start selling for him.
