Riders avoiding advancement should learn......

Edited Date/Time 1/25/2012 4:55am
For all the riders who "SIT OUT" of any race the last few weeks, or up coming races to avoid or influence ADVANCEMENT to the A class...................

THEY SHOULD pay attention, "why you ask"?

because the determination and out right courage the riders displayed tonight, racing that track, in that condition, you can't avoid, you can't sit out..........you have to bring your "A" game....... YOu don't learn that by avoiding races or placement where you belong. You learn that by racing the best, and being the best. Anything else is bullshit.

Been around this sport 33 years, I have seen a ton of riders choose to "sit back" and try to do better or sandbag and try to be the hero the next season......It NEVER works....... they end up being program filler.

Great race tonight at Daytona, and it's a wonder those bikes made it that long. hell every time you seen "smoke" out the tailpipe of that motorcycle, it's not smoke, it's water vapor from sucking water through the motor.......all one can say is wow.

i totally agree .

but the problem is the way the sponsorship system works , it rewards sandbagging . if B riders continue to get big bucks sponsors then the sandbagging will continue .

thats very true, they should reward the higher classes so much that it doesn't pay to be the fastest slow guy.

what is a C class national champion anyway????? what it is...................sign up money. mulitiplied by how many qualifiers?

I understand the need to push product, and i understand the need to make your product shine, but to completely undermind the whole true racing spirit of amatuer racing, along with the process which is suppose to make the process work....advancement..............will only take the whole system down.

If any of those riders sit out, or factorys pull out, it really is good for the true amatuer riders out there. In fact race promoters would see an increase in ridership, because others would have a chance to win on a level playing field.

well more level anyway.

I agree with your statement to a degree.
I have moved riders up (even though is was not popular with the support group) knowing it was best for their career and mental strength.
I have also kept riders from moving up based on their emotional maturity and National experience.

We are trying to advance riders based on a number of areas that will allow the athlete to succeed within his career as an amateur and long term professional.

With that being said, a system must be put in place that not only allows advancement through the numbers but also experience and possible other indicators agreed to by the majority.

which we spent 8 years going over and over and over it. We put together a process based on real time results, achievements, etc. The maturity of the rider, when it comes to a one on one basis is simple, appeal it if it's unjust. The bottom line is we can't screw up the whole process and all the riders because of a chosen special few.

If they do NOT post a b-a advancement list because one or two people don't aggree to it is plain not right. We have advanced this way for years, just because the process has some small changes in 2008 don't exempt 2007 riders. this is and was the biggest bitch about this process for years, local normal riders get wacked and moved normally, special premadonna oem backed wanna be pro's have to be "special"......but they can come "home" on off weekends and clean up on contingency money.

Its' the whole reason for the national system, and why I submitted it.

But seeing what AMA has now done with Pro racing..........It won't be long and amatuer will be next to be package up for sale.

Wardy,
I'm sorry I do not know you personally, but I would like to meet with you some time, I like your approach to resolving issues. I understand your dilema and the wall you are up against. They could not pay me enough to be in your shoes trying to come up with a plan that works for everyone.
I for one appreciate your efforts in trying to do what is right.
Good luck to you in whatever you do.
Kindest regards,

There was a recent clinical study that was published in the New England Journal of Medicine that proves there is a direct correlation between a MX riders willingness to contest a more advanced class and their penis size. I now actually feel a little sorry for all those sandbaggers with their tiny little peckers. Especially after reading that an estimated 74.3% of sandbaggers are forced to stuff their riding pants with a sock to prevent embarrasment when standing on the pegs past the spectator areas.

its' funny in a way we developed this whole process and thought everyone was on board.

guess they didn't beleive us when we said it was a "national" system. Actually I bet they never thought AMA would see it through, and for that Ryan and Matt did work it out and did do the job. But now they have to finish the process, it will sting a little , they will lose a little skin, but once it's done, it will be easier as it begins to level the field. You seee

there are a shit load more riders who are watching this process and EXPECTit to be done by the rules, the few teams, the few riders who are now getting special treatment will show once again that AMA in this process needs to be more on the ball. It will put this whole thing in a much worse light next year.

i know that three or four districts have done thier own advancment, we may have to here to now.

The OEM's did no want it what did you expect to happen?
3/8/2008 9:27pm
I expect that if we are supposed to follow the rules at all these races, and they come to our districts to make sure they read us the friggin rule book every year and preach to us to follow the rules.

I expect them to do the same. and they should.
