This bike is rideable but not yet finished. Thought I share it with you guys
Should be a 2008 RM250 SUZUKI
Completly rebuilt
The bike came with lights on, so I guess an enduro guy got a hard crash on it.
As the bike didn't have a linkage assy, the rear subrfame was missing, the protapers were bent and had a crack, so was the throttle tube.
I found it from marketplace and it was like an hour drive from my home. As i had to act quick (there was another buyer and i had to pay some more so that the bike wouldn' find his way to the junkyard).
So i picked it up, and took it apart. Gearbox was in a rideable shape, so i changed all the bearings in the cases and some gears also. After that a new piston, and seals. When i took the engine apart i already saw that i have some issues on the cylinder. It seems that sometimes in the past a ring has cracked, and there were somr signs on the walls. But as i had a hard time finding one, i taught i'll just ride a season and then figure out something in the off season. But now 2 seasons later I am finally dealing with this issue. I have a contact in finland whose business is thr cylinder exchange, but he doesn't have my 37F6 availible. So i will nickasil it.

So year 2023 went by, installed new excel rims, hubs still original. Had a crash (learned about the thing on the front number plate and front brake, the hard way).
Will need a new cylinder, a new seat (250f) a new kick start, will ad stickers this year
Had a close call with the bearing. Had an HKH bearing in it. For 12hrs. Might be a defective bearing, but i keep a bit more slack on my chain now. I run a o-ring now.
Some updates that had been done this year. Had to rebuild the gearbox, new gears, selector, forks, new exhaust valves, plenty of work done during the year.
1) A new 3d Printed front brake line bracket
2) The old "side" exhaust valves with actuator - New OEM installed
3) & 4) After recieving the barrel from nikasil I truly did pay to weld the exhaust hole, but recieved a barrel where they hadn't touch the exhaust hole. So MikkTursk did some magic and calculations and the hoke has now a custom made stainless steel barrel to keep the exhaust gasses flowing.
5) The Bike with the new graphics
6) The engine when tearing apart for the broken gearbox. New Kickstarter installed
7) New gearbox parts
8,9,10) The fucked gearbox parts
Had to wait 15 years for this to happen again, thank you Brother for being a motivation
Love the late model RMs! I’m building an RM125 but I got a NOS carbon fiber DSP clutch cover that’d fit your bike. Asking $200 + shipping if you’re interested. Thought it would fit my 125 but it did not.
