Well I am rebuilding my motor on my 2006 yz250f because my 4th gear broke a tooth and the bike was making a grinding noise. So I took the whole motor apart and replaced the gear. Now I am stuck on putting the main gear back together. I Put all the gears and spacers on in the right order and in the manual it says that a c clip goes on the end which i have but cannot find a groove for the c clip to go into. Second question is how in the world do you get the shift forks and gear all together and back into the motor the manual is aweful at showing how.
If i remember right, there should be a groove in the sliders on the end of the main shaft. I assume your referring to part 5 on the bottom right.
As far as re-assembly. you should install the main and countershaft as a set. Then, set the shift drum in. install the shift forks in the appropriate gears, and then in the shift drum. install the shift fork sliders last
