Old age: wheels falling off the proverbial cart...

The aches and pains are becoming more and more frequent, and the wounds aren't healing as quick. Anyone ever research or talk to their doctor about HGH? The riding, especially the big MX tracks, are still too much excitement to quit and ride the trails...

I'm not sure if I'm posting this link right but everything you want to know is in there! Just the cost would keep me away from it!

That site kinda reads like an advertisement. Thanks, though. At least it's some info. I'm going to ask a few doctors/PT's, in addition to my own research.

[quote:2vegy5ew]A Stanford University School of Medicine survey of clinical studies on the subject published in early 2007 showed that the application of GH on healthy elderly patients increased muscle by about 2 kg and decreased body fat by the same amount.[7] However, these were the only positive effects from taking GH. No other critical factors were affected, such as bone density, cholesterol levels, lipid measurements, maximal oxygen consumption, or any other factor that would indicate increased fitness.[7] Researchers also didn't discover any gain in muscle strength, which led them to believe that GH merely let the body store more water in the muscles rather than increase muscle growth. This would explain the increase in lean body mass. Regular application of GH did show several negative side effects such as joint swelling, [b:2vegy5ew][u:2vegy5ew]joint pain[/b:2vegy5ew][/u:2vegy5ew], carpal tunnel syndrome, and an increased risk of diabetes.[7][/quote:2vegy5ew]

Looks like GH isn't the answer.
