I think yesterday’s 1st moto will go down as a historic ride but it got me thinking about some of his other unbelievable moto’s over the years.
He is some of the ones that I can remember.
2012 Benelux GP 1st moto, 1 lap away from lapping the field.
2012 MXON’s moto 3, crashes 1st turn, crazy ride through the field to challenge Cairoli but TC holds him off for the win.
2017 Ironman, turns up and wins both motos.
2019 Latvia moto 1, falls on the sighting lap, another rider rides over his already injured foot, wins the moto but can’t start the 2nd because he’s in too much pain.
2021 Dutch GP moto 1 gets landed on my Montichelli on the 1st lap, comes from being to win, can’t compete in the 2nd moto because of a cracked shoulder blade.
There must be plenty more than I’m forgetting.
2013 GP of Lierop, rode with a freshly broken shoulder blade (2 weeks before the race) and won both motos.
2018 Argentina moto 2 was pretty good also. Came from a couple seconds pass to pass 222 on the final lap.
2014 GP of Mexico Jeffrey missed 3 rounds due to a broken femur in the Everts 85cc charity race. Showed up in Mexico for the last round with a not fully healed broken femur to defend his title. Tixier won the championship with only 4 points over Jeffrey.
A couple that immediately come to mind that haven’t been mentioned yet.
Indonesia 2018, missed the previous round with a broken collarbone, came back one week later with it plated and chased Cairoli down late in the second moto and won the GP.
Lommel 2021, similar story, first race back after his broken shoulder blade, winning the first moto and coming through the pack in the second moto in brutal conditions.
MxDN 2018 Quali race, crashed in the first turn, went straight into pit lane, came out about half a lap down on everyone and came all the way back to 2nd in a 20 minute race.
The guy is an absolute phenomenon, and IMO, when talking purely MX, the GOAT
Not trying to be different but the GP of Europe 2012.
This was the next round after his famous Lierop performance but this time on a hard packed track in Italy, Faenza. Deep sand is one thing but his performance here was arguably even more devastating for everyone - pulling away from Tommy Searle (who started out in 2nd behind Jeffrey) 30+ seconds. I have a slight memory that Tommy himself has since made reference to it in an subsequent interview about his career.

2010 Valkenswaard, 3rd GP ever and first home GP at 15 years old and going 1-1!
2012 Loket GP. Just coming off a car incident at the GP off Russia. Get taken down by Searle, turning on the afterburners to chase him down to win the moto and GP!
2012 Final round Dutch Championship. Lining up in the 250 and 450 on the same day. 250 and 350 bike that day. Wins all the 4 moto’s. Both classes where back to back to only changes a goggle and a different bike! 120 minutes+8 laps that day and not even counting practice!
2014 GP Mexico, broke his femur a couple off weeks before and decided to go and ride basically still a broke femur with a rod in it. It was simply a bit to much and lost the world title with a couple off points to Tixier. Even he lost the title, he got my respect forever with this savage move!
2021 MXGP Lommel. He broke his shoulderblade like posted above a few weeks before, he missed the GP in between. Nobody expected him in Lommel that weekend, but Fridays bikes went true technical meeting! He came out and won the first moto!
The Xray off his Femur on Saturday eve before the GP on Sunday. Tough guy!
I have seen most of them live and yesterday 1st heat surely belongs there too. You need to be there to really understand what he does. Crowd all around cheering for him, no matter which county wthey were from.
14 year old herlings wins onk halle there was roczen also then..... and many gp riders.....was his first year in the mx2
Didn't he race half of 2017 with a broken hand that wasn't even healed? Also won Indonesia in 2018 with a freshly plated collarbone I think.
I remember watching this race in TV & when he pulled that move I was like OMFG!.
All of those rides are still fresh in my memories and I can call myself lucky to witness those ones in NL/BE and even Red Bud 2018. Also not really shared as much as the GPs, but all of his rides in the Dutch Masters series were really special. Especially in the MX2 days he was lapping the entire field at some races.
You know, for some reason he can find something extra when he puts his mind to it. Both on hardpack and sand tracks he did some awesome stuff that will go down in the history books. I have the feeling that he matured a lot the past 2 years as well, off track
I forget another one from early this year. Pre season race at Lierop. 2nd moto 3 laps to go, Geerts was healthy at riding pretty well at that point and got a 15 sec lead on Jeffrey. Jeffrey closed that lead and passed Jago on the last lap with the fastest lap off the race on the last lap!
It was crazy and he looked ready for the new season! Still surprised it took a while for him to reach the winning level off MXGP!
The everts stew corner
Only 3 weeks later and we already have another to add to the list. Another unbelievable charge in the first moto today. The guy is a complete animal
The Bullet is the f*#kin' man.
