Meanwhile a real insurrection happening on the grounds of the nations capital.

23 arrests. Another one of those peaceful lib "protests". Sure looks like an insurrection to me as 6 of those folks were arrested INSIDE the House. I trust all charges will be dropped shortly.

Though it’s within their rights, it just shows a full on lack of morals.

I don’t even know if kids say, “I Pledge Allegiance” anymore. We did everyday of the week while I was in school. As a 47 year old, I still feel the same way for this country. Not political puppets. Not politicians but, for what this country stood for that seems to have been long forgotten.

Unfortunately, it gets old watching what’s going on with our country. Even watching it unfold here sometimes.  Never in my youth or, even throughout my thirties was political hostility at the forefront of any conversation. Nobody ever asked, “ who are you voting for”?? That never mattered. Now, it’s a reason to hate someone which is why I don’t  get involved in political threads much.

After Trump got shot and, regardless of whether people liked or, disliked the guy, it should never be a reason to cheer. Politics are dirty. Cause division, hate, stereotyping, blame, shaming and, take away from what being an American stands for.

United.

Quick side note: My nieces and nephews still say the pledge of allegiance.

In regards to the rest of your post, 100%. I swear I'm not trying to make this a RvD thing but just look at the Republicans slogan, "Make America Great Again". What are they talking about?! America is great! I can say whatever the fuck I want about anyone I want, scream to the heavens that god is gay, smoke weed, and go to the beach, the desert, and the snow in a single day without the fear that I'm going to have a drone blow me out of existence while having whatever food I want, from anywhere in the world I want it, delivered to me at any time of day.

Fuck this shitting on America, "Make America Great Again", bullshit. We're fucking America! We are great! We build shit and live cool lives and let people marry who they love, and keep our kids fed, and understand the importance of everyone getting a quality education you loser other countries that don't prioritize those things. Yeah, sure, we've got some rough patches, who doesn't?! But we're working on it, and we're going to remind the world why we're #1.

How can we be proud / instill proudness if we don't already believe and act like we're great?

You're too young to know what a great country we had.

Perhaps, but I do know how great this country can be, and I'm sick of people shit talking it so much.

Exactly- "how great this country can be" which is what MAGA means. We can be great again.

And 90% of the shit talking about how shitty the USA has become is from liberals who hate everything the US stands for and was built on.

I'd agree with you if Trump didn't making his whole dealio, "America is fucked and I'm the only one that can fix it".

Agree to disagree on the other part.

Did you ever notice how if you see someone with an American Flag on their house/yard, American Flag sticker on their truck, etc. it is pretty much guaranteed that they are Republican?

I have never seen someone who votes Blue display an American Flag. Kind of shows which party has USA pride and who does not?
