The non-moto troll is getting out of control again. Should we put him back in his cage?

There's a few who need leashes

I would however like to see someone, impartial, keep a record of the number of anti-Obama/Democrat vs the number of Anti-Bush/Republican threads started per week.

Which do you think there will be more of?

It was hard to post anything about politics without being anti when Bush was the president, since basically everything he did was bad for America and the world.

Good question, and I admit I never thought about it.

I think one thing that comes to mind is that the criticisms about Bush were directed at Bush and not as Dem vs Rep arguments.
It seems to me, Bush's policies and actions were the basis of the criticisms or attacks, but no one attacked his citizenship, place of birth, his ethnicity, his participating in an annual event like the Washington Correspondents Dinner, his travel schedule, attacking his wife (except for Bonypony on occasion) and calling her "ugly," or daily barrages of false or misleading chain emails.

Seems to me, most of the criticism and attacks towards Bush centered around his politics and policies and very little beyond that.

The same cannot be said about the current administration.

I see your point, but Bush was the brunt of criticism of every kind during those years. His gestures & mannerisms, his 'Bushisms' and speech problems, his appearance (remember all the ape-collages?) his military record, his college record, his mom & dad, etc. His citizenship and place of birth were never brought up because there was never any question regarding either. (if there wouldve been any doubt about those you can be sure they wouldve been fodder for questions). You are right on the ethnicity part and Obama does get lots of slams for his mixed race and thats not cool at all. But all in all, I think Bush was grilled, lampoon'd, and ridiculed just as much, just for different reasons.

Maybe your right.

Either way, then or now, I'd like to see someone keep a tab on the number of anti-Obama/Democrat vs the number of Anti-Bush/Republican threads started per week.

I think you'll see a large part of all of these arguments will have been started by the anti-Obama side.

But again, like you've shown, I guess the same could have been said while Bush was in office.

and yes, some folks are due for a leash and collar fitting on here

None of the above were brought up because Bush himself gave his opponents plenty of real ammo to use. Nothing had to be manufactured.

I see your point now Dave, duly noted. I will admit that I detect a different tone of resent towards Obama that I saw when Bush was in office. But then again, there are guys who have a level of hate towards Bush that is unrivaled and is going on even now on the board, so I guess all things are fair in love, war and politics.

What I see is "gotcha" attacks.

It started with Clinton. He was attacked for all manner of reasons. It got ugly from early on during his presidency. Probably led by folks like Rush. Family was fair game.

So, then there's W. Attacked for all manner of reasons. Gotcha back.

Now, it's the "O". Gotcha back again.

I still think W was "personally" attacked more than Clinton or Obama.

Such as this....

If you posted that about Obama, you'd be labeled a racist. Gotta LOVE double standards...

Because there is a history of black people being called monkeys that is strictly based on race.

I don't think that is based on race at all with Obama. I believe it's a play on his ears...and large mouth...

I'm sure if you intend it to be "racist"...then it is. Shit, people could cry racism about any derogatory comment made towards Obama. That's one of the things wrong with this country!!!

I can't see inside your head or anyone else that would compare Obama to a monkey, but, it's my view that people that choose the monkey comparison for Obama are more likely than not racist.

For instance, the picture of the T-shirt looks nothing like Obama. How could this item be anything but racial in nature?
