Opening round of the points series, went as a spectator and met up w /an old racing partner and wow what a turnout. I`d say 350 riders and possibly 700-800 spectators. They have a sponsor pro money class(20 rider gate too!) that pays 200 clams each moto for the holeshot! Ricky Renner won the class(Ronnie Renner of FMX fame younger brother).24 classes,and it was a cool show,the announcers were super .Hard to top this track for Sat. night racing in Fla. they really have their act together and the top riders can make some good dough for a nights work.
I love being a part of the sponsor's cup. It's so much fun. My rider who nearly got the holeshot on last years bike (Jessie williams built the motor! http://www.williamsmotowerx.net/) was in 4th in the second moto for about 7 laps before pumping up and making a mistake.... I need a new bike for this kid! Like 15 guys got bikes this year and "we" weren't one of them.
I almost want to run the old bike all year as a big FU to all the shop owners.
