Hi every one I recently acquired a 1990 xr100 free it's almost all there other then no stator cover. It's obvious it hasn't ran in a while and as of right now I'm getting no spark. So far I have slipped a strip of 180grit sand paper in between the points to clean them. I got it to spark by holding the plugs center electrode close to the cooling fins and it'll spark. I also held the plug while touching the fins and let it shock me and it feels pretty weak maybe t0% of what my 2001 xr100 feels. Yes I did it with both to see lol. What's next to do to get this thing running for my daughter?I added the pic of getting it home don't mind the quads the guy said I had to take them if I wanted the bike
In order for your daughter to have a safe and reliable bike to enjoy, I would recomend going through the whole bike from front to back. Wheel bearings, steering head, suspension, etc. Things like fork seals, chain and sprockets, carbuerator, brakes and cables. Very inexpensive parts and easy repairs. Riding and repairs is a great overall experience. Best of luck!
That's the plan just want make sure it's gonna run and not need a rebuild. I'm happy to put some money into it to make sure it's gonna be good.
