no inside joke just pointing out that Mark is better than most guys that think they are still at this god level because they worked for factory teams before but now work out of garage and also he is better than the current big company names like Pro circuit and such because they do not care about the small man they only care about Levi kitchen what they put in your bike is no where near the good stuff that Kitchen has even if you bought the 12,000 dollar A-kit its not the Factory team suspension that has the secret stuff in it that allows the suspension to do things that even regular customer bought A-kit can do the stuff Kitchen has is not anymore expensive in parts its just they have special valves and and rods and pistons that they only let the contract riders use because they don't want the regular rich guy pulling it apart and reverse engineering the Showa stuff
So how much testing has Mark done for off road settings in the slick roots and rocks of the PNW?
How does his time with Dungey apply to that?
How does his data acquisition done in Bro Cal apply to woods racing on the East Coast?
Nobody is saying Mark isn't good, but it's just laughable that you think because he has all this expensive equipment and worked for Ryan Dungey that he is somehow the best suspension guy for every dude with a dirt bike.
Some men you just can’t reach…
so your a woods rider and that is not something mark specializes in as real men do not ride woods sorry to break it to you

...that's one fucking long sentence....Falcon, this kid needs help.
Hahahaha!
What a dildo.
Judging by your posts, the only thing you ride is a Chinese knockoff B&S-powered mini bike from Tractor Supply. I’m glad REP has your suspension dialed in, I wouldn’t want that 3hp getting out of hand.
Hi Michael,
There's a bit of a suspension paradox really.
Think about this
If there's a method/ way to "ideally" tune suspension then you can't use phrases like "every rider is different". It also throws a big spanner in works when we look across the different brands of components.
It seems odd to me a tuner can endorse wp pro components one week but then sell a set of kyb the following. These two brands have very different tuning philosophies especially when you consider the piston geometry.
How is it a factory tuner gets "led down the wrong path" by these pro riders, who let's face it have very little mechanical aptitude? Isn't that the cart leading the horse?
What about coatings? There's plenty of technical research papers that show how coatings interact with subsurfaces and lubrication and many folk would be very upset with the findings.
While we're talking research papers, ktm/wp have commissioned technical research as recent as 2024. Look up "A universal nonlinear model for the dynamic behaviour of a damper"
I've personally been very vocal across several platforms about the moto industries lack of focus on the importance of pressure balance and in particular how this causes flow imbalance.
Interestingly enough though, I see a sudden up tick in preloaded pressure springs and air assisted free pistons in the AMA pits.
Ive managed to make a data logger that samples at 1000 samples per second to measure position and velocity, all for under $300. I'd love to see more technical research, more solid data but I believe that most wouldn't like what they would see.
