How come Tedesco and Regal aren't running all the same components? I realize they aren't on the same bike and did some testing, but some company's on each bike are completely different.

First off, one is on a 450 and the other a 250. Also I am sure they each brought with them there own sponsors as well.

They are some what similar, big difference is suspension: Tedesco gets A-kits from PC, Regal has coated kayabas (who is doing them? in house?), and motor wise Tedesco is supposed to be using the GYTR stuff and I believe Regal's stuff is from their in house guy.

If i got something wrong anybody care to correct me?

Regal has his stuff done by a local shop Merge Racing. Merge is the company that did his outdoor stuff last year (both on the Honda's and Valli). You can't argue with his results using them even so far in SX.

Motors I have no idea, he's probably using in-house stuff since the new 250F isn't considerably different from the old and people know what works with it. He certainly has the starts in heat races to show it works, unfortunately the mains seem to be a problem so far.

Not a big deal really , Tedesco gets better support because he's a top guy.

that's how it works

In SX of course... but come outdoors I imagine we'll see a lot of Regal ahead of IT just like last year.

For the most part Valli is paying their own way so it's much different than other teams.

We need more teams like Valli.

Yes, Kyle is using Jim from Merge Racing, who has been by his side for some time now... As far as motors go, PC has been building them for him.

The bottom line is Kyle does not have the same options to pick from as Tedesco has, whether it is being a lites rider, or because he does not have the stature Ivan has... who knows....

I don't know much about the bikes, but that team has been really impressive this year. Hot Sauce has been up front and the kids on both coasts have had some good races. It's cool to see a new team come in and do so well.

not to knock Regal at all he rips, heck, I am even on his bandwagon

but did we really see him ahead of IT "a lot" last year?

He beat Ivan in three motos, one of which Ivan dnf'd (southwick) he never beat Ivan overall, except Southwick where Ivan finished 35th or something the first moto.

Ivan finished on the podium at least 5 times and went 1-1 at Colorado. Wink

I agree, he didn't beat IT "a lot" last year... but remember he was a rookie in his first professional season. IT has numerous championships and seasons under his belt, which results in irreplaceable experience compared to KR. In addition, Kyle jumped from a Honda 250f, to a 09 Honda 450, to a 08 Honda 450, then finally to his Yamaha deal at Valli. Thinking back, that left him very minimal time to prepare or test compared to IT's factory equipment...

Just throwing my opinion out there.

I wasn't bashing or pumping up either rider , I was just saying Ivan can get better stuff than Regal at this point.

I agree and like I said, I am hoping Regal has continued success this year.

It goes to show you even more so that racing is 90% mental.

500guy, I know what you were saying! lol.

Merge http://www.mergeracing.com/ did his suspension last year but http://www.c4mx.com/ did his motors.

I'm a Kyle Regal fan for sure but I've tired of the "he beat IT last year" stuff. Not to take anything away from Regal's impact he made last year but Ivan's shock had gone south in the second moto. I was at Unadilla and it looked like Ivan was on a pogo stick....I also watched the race on the DVR and Ivan had his hands full coming into the corners dealing with braking bumps with just a spring for suspension.

Looking forward to Kyle getting more experience in SX and am ready for him to kick some serious butt when the outdoor starts...that kid has a very promising future IMO. I've got my eye on both Kyle Regal and Weston Peick this year....great to see future stars in the making....they both have really great guys for fathers too!

I am a Kyle Regal Fan and I can't wait to see him outdoors again with some more experience. I hope he makes it thru SX healthy.

I am a huge Kyle Regal fan but just read on his sister fb that he is not going to be racing this weekend. Does anyone know why?
