Thanks for sharing. When you say “Parking lot was full, no issues with tailgating” what sort of issues do you mean?

I was just pointing out that the stadium parking lot was completely full and I didn't see anyone getting tickets for tailgating.  I read some guys got tickets for drinking beers in the parking lot at A1, but we didn't have any issues.

Cheers. We don’t really do the whole tailgating thing in Aus as much as you guys. Interesting.

This was my first time to a SX event in SoCal, and I must say it was an amazing experience overall.

I was fortunate enough to spend Wednesday and Friday at Disneyland, and Thursday at Knotts Berry farm. I took my parents and my 7 year old daughter. Then SX Saturday before flying home Sunday. It was great memories.

I was pretty disappointed in the boos for both Anderson and Jett. It was very clear, you know they heard it too. I hope we are past it as well. Other than that everyone was chill, I had no bad run ins anywhere. I was in section 208 and did the wave every time. like 7 or 8 total on the night lol

Jett was clearly the fastest guy on the track, but he also looked like and proved that he was in the least consistent control too. That belonged to Anderson, those guys are lucky his starts weren't there in two motos.

I was there for the first time since A1 2023. It was a great event! I sat in the 535 section. I was skeptical when Mathilde sent me free tickets and saw the section number but view was amazing! Didn't buy food nor drinks in the stadium, I grabbed a couple waters at the KTM hospitality,  so my only expense was parking... It was $50. It's 20 bucks for general parking at a baseball game and $30 for preferred. I pay $30 in a brand new parking garage for a NBA game 50 yards from Crypto Arena. An Angel Stadium worker said the Stadium charges the SX promoter $20 for parking meaning Feld takes home $30 of it? If that's the case, that's not cool...

Man, if Feld is doing that with parking, that is bullshit.       I can see a point where fewer and fewer people will attend when the fleecing reaches a certain point.        Talk about shooting themselves in the foot.

I actually asked one of the stadium supervisors about the parking at A1 and where to lodge a complaint and she said to call this number 714-940-2000. I asked specifically if it was a stadium issue or promoter issue and she said the stadium controls all the parking and they get complaints all the time about it along with the increases in their food and drink prices. She seemed like a very nice, genuine lady and made a few more comments about how unfortunately that is the case these days with most things. She also said that's the same price for Dodgers games, she was a Dodger fan. lol. I haven't called yet but I plan to.

The pessimist in me says, all the complaining in the world isn't going to change a thing until people start voting with their wallets.

I can afford these increases....but choose not to support them.       I'll buy tix at the box office and find alternate parking.

Nice pics man what is your rig set up?

I wasn't using my normal kit that I use for moto.  I've shot Canon for 20+ years paired with the 300 f/2.8, 135 f/2, 50 f/1.8, and 35 f/1.4 for moto.   I transitioned to mirrorless and settled on R5's for my primary bodies because I shoot a lot of other stuff besides moto.  If I was full time moto I would shoot with a 1DXII or or R3, but at A2 I didn't have a press pass so they only let me in the stadium with an R5 and a 70-200.

The cool thing about the R5 is it essentially turns that 70-200 into a 400 since you can crop 50% and still have a 22mp image. Nice shots.

Thanks.  If I have access and the right lens I try to avoid cropping at all times.  It's nice to have for insurance but I rarely crop as I prefer shallow DOF/bokeh.  I had no choice at A2 sitting in the stands with 200mm so the R5 helped there.

I just grabbed a few outdoor shots from Pala at 300mm with zero cropping:

Gorgeous. I think the new RF100-300 2.8 might be the best moto lens of all time, even if it's a bit heavy. I'm definitely going to rent one when I hit a few nationals this year.

I bought the 100-300 back in August, it's epic.  I haven't shot moto with it yet but I agree it will make the perfect outdoor moto lens.   It's only slightly heavier than the 300II but it's very well balanced and doesn't feel too heavy.
