Leatt Neck Brace on the Home page...
Looks like a step in the right direction for cervical spine protection..as well as the neck protectors that are already on the market...

Looks like it could use a little more padding/protection in the back but otherwise it seems to be functional in the event of a crash...

I was shown some photos of a guy who crashed straight onto the top of his head while wearing the Leatt brace. He had some pretty gnarly bruising on the top of his shoulders, and also some on his back. But the report is that his mom was VERY happy that he was wearing the brace.

Bruises better than breaks.

David, is that during one of the DMXS shows? Is it really that hazardous in the studio?

This brace is a strong step in the right direction. If you get a chance to try one make sure it is fitted correctly so it gets a fair shake. I'm hoping supply & demand will drive the price down so that's not an objection for anyone. It's easy to say it's priceless if it does it's job but the economic reality is at current price points many will just plain avoid it.

I just wanted to keep this topic alive & kicking. What is it going to take to get some of the current crop of Pro riders wearing this brace? Would you wear one if they started showing up on the podium? Do you think that the mini riders would be more inclined to wear it if their heroes used it?

Is it really a price issue? Thoughts on this? To me it really seems like the evidence is building in favor of the brace doing it's job. It may just be a matter of time before they become more commonplace.
