Hey everyone, we are planning our first race at AMP MX for the end of March. Unfortunately there are not A LOT of weekends available to have a race here in the GA/AL area that we won't be competing with another race track that is close by, so time is limited for us to get everything dialed in....but it can be done!!

So I have a couple of things I was hoping the Vital MX crew here could possibly help me with. First off, and possibly most important, is sponsors for the race. I am finalizing a Proposal as we speak and will have it ready to send out to anyone and everyone interested in helping. I know there are a lot of industry people that visit this site and/or some of you that know some influential people, so I hope you guys/girls will see this and get in touch with me if you can help or know someone who may.

Secondly, we are going to be putting in a tunnel to be able to get to and from our starting line. We are planning to use a storage/shipping trailer or container for this and cut out the back end of it and build a jump/ant hill over it. I have found a few here in GA and they can deliver them for us, but I wanted to see if anyone here may know where one is for cheap and/or another idea of how we could construct our tunnel.

I look forward to hearing everyones input. So post away or contact me by email at mshue@ampmx.com.

Good luck with your 1st race shue201,
tunnel jumps are cool, using a old semi trailor is a good idea, i know a guy that started a track up here, well in west ken. , he used some sort of drainage pipe , about 6 ft in diameter, and maybe 15-20 ft long, for a tunnel jump. another idea would be to use concrete ,maybe use 16 in block for the sides, and fill the block solid with concrete, then use some steel across the top, and a 8-12 in slab on it, this may be an expensive solution, now im not an engineer or an architect, so i wouldnt know the strengths required, to carry the wieght of the dirt as well as 15- 20 bikes going over it.
anyways i thought i would throw some ideas out there.

Yeah Matt, this is Joey. Thanks for the update. I didn't realize he sold that gate.

Thanks guys 70s Superstar, glad you liked it!!

Practice Track - I assume this is Joey...right? I have been in contact with John ever since I came to his race for the 1st time. We considered his gate, but went with another one. I actually talked to John today too and he told me he sold that gate. Glad he was able to offload it.

Oldschoolmxr203 - I do believe that may be more expensive and take much more time to put into place. Like you said too, I am not sure if it would hold up to the weight.

We're heading down to Monster next Thursday night, I think we're going to be hitting you guys up on Sunday as long as everything works out. Pretty pumped to check out the track...looks good. Hopefully we can make it down for your first race as long as a qualifiers not scheduled that day.
