Is anyone racing this?  Or have you raced it in the past?  With Skegness not running this year, I’m going to do Barmouth instead.  Looks like fun, 5 20 minute races over 2 days.  Just wondered what the camping/ pits situation was regarding leaving bikes there etc.  Any info appreciated!

Nice!  Are you stopping at the beach/ track at the weekend or somewhere nearby?  I’m just trying to work out the best plan.  Should be a fun weekend!

Car park is right on the beach, across a road, and you camp there.. no parc ferme so bikes are as secure as you can make them.

5 race format is decent, 3 on saturday, and 2 on sunday early on, last year i think i was home for 5pm and its a 3 hour drive.

I commentated on last years event and will be back this year.

Nice event, without the wankery of Weston, more akin to Skeggy, but easier to ride.. its an MX on the beach, so no big dunes to cause chaos.. racing was mint last year.

Awesome thanks, yeah looks like Skeg type sand from the videos I’ve seen.  Looking forward to something a bit different.

Might have to come down and watch this year.... it's only down the road... ish! Whats the spectator parking like? In the the summer, its horrendous... in the winter it's a ghost town!

The fast lads are proper fast, clubmen is all levels.

Its much easier than Skeggy, its sand that has a base , you can drive a car onto Barmouth beach, you can only drive on Skeggy with tracks.

Barmouth is dry too, water table is a long way down, not 1mm under the surface like Weston.

I've also entered as I'm relatively local . Wondering how many outfits will be there so my 16yr old son (in the chair) isn't too overwhelmed. He's not raced before!!.

Any feedback on suspension set up would be appreciated for our WSP (2012) KTM690.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I’ve found the classes a bit confusing but I’ve booked in for the 125/ 250f class.  I’m hoping it’s 5 races across the weekend like the other classes, and the guy I booked in with did say it’s an adult class not schoolboy.  Hoping it all works out on the weekend 😄

Done it 3 times over the years. 2010, 2017 and 2018. It gets extremely rough, come to think of it I've never actually finished the Saturday before without having an absolutely massive crash. Probably why I stopped racing it.

Well I’m hoping it goes well anyway!  I usually do Skeg but they aren’t running it this year so thought I’d give it a go.

I think there are 5-6 of us on sidecars, running with the quads. It should be mega, we are only taking our old beach racing outfit, with a KX500 motor in so we will be down on power and not very fast… just going for a laugh.

We finished Weston last weekend though 😎👍

come and find us in the pits for a chat, my brother is a good passenger and will help your son

Sounds good. Thanks for that.

Do you think getting there for around 8:30 is early enough?
Thanks again

I’m hoping there is room in the car park / pits as I’ll be coming in each day not stopping there as I’ve just got a van.

It will be snug, but there is enough room.

Hopefully it’ll be back on next year.  I’ll probably do the races at bibbys as well just for some different winter racing. Are you commentating at Barmouth Phil?

Is anyone racing this?  Or have you raced it in the past?  With Skegness not running this year, I’m going to do Barmouth instead.  Looks like fun, 5 20 minute races over 2 days.  Just wondered what the camping/ pits situation was regarding leaving bikes there etc.  Any info appreciated!

Is there anywhere to camp with a tent near here

I think Skegness will be back next year, it had trouble with the funding being pulled this year…

I’ve seen that Bibby’s series advertised, it looks interesting 😎
