Wam! Bam! Thank ya Mam!. I'm going to have to dig through the tapes now. I have this one tucked away somewhere. Dirt Bike Stars... if i remember right.

Is this also the tape where they ask Warren Reid what it would take to beat a factory rider and he says a cold day in hell? Then ask since you are the top privateer what are you hoping for tonight and he says A cold day in hell.

I also remember using the superb info from the Doug Domokos segment where they talk about using the rear break if you go back to far. After seeing that, I practiced and practiced on my RM80 until I got my wheelies down. Just when I thought I was getting good I looped out in 4th gear and broke my arm in 4 places with a compound fracture. Come to find out that I lost the nut off the back of my drum brake.
The "Cold Day in Hell" race was the 1984 Superbowl, not this one.

I have that "Great Moments in Supercross" CD set and it has several races in the LA colliseum where they went up and down the lower seats like that. That sure would be cool to see again!

thanks for spending your time so we can watch these vids. I wish there was some way they could build todays tracks in such a way to slow the riders down a bit and every thing not be a combination. but i guess the bikes are so advanced now that they cant.

Very nice find Bobby.

Speaking of tracks that go up into the stands/mezzanines, Montreal had it up until 2008. here's a link to the 2002 125cc final from Montreal.

That's a great video. you can see the four stroke advantage, but it looks like the determination of the rider put those 125's ahead of the thumper in the end.

I love the Canadian races and the announcers.

According to Rich at Dirtwurx the ride up into the stands is making a return this year...

"We have a couple tracks with what I believe will be a workable quad jump, some great choice lanes, a new design in Salt Lake City that incorporates a starting area off the playing field, up the ramp, and onto the concourse, some interesting outdoor terrain style sections, and a brand new stadium in Irving, Texas."
