Pre Lorreta Lynns. This one was held at Cyclerama in San Antonio Tx. It was a mud race and my folks kept the program and ticket stub. I also got a certificate from trhe AMA for 11th place in my class.....7-11 80 cc MX.


The 125 class featured Marty Smith. I can look anyones name up on it if they would like but my picture of the program did not load properly.

Cool post....

Check for a Mike Iddings from Michigan, riding a 1976 PK XR75 Honda. I think he finished 6th?.....not sure in which class though, but might have been in yours!

Here was the bike he rode...I restored it for him a few years ago.....wasn't done yet in this picture, but you get the idea. Glass tank, PK pipe, Webco cam, BBK cylinder kit, inner rotor ignition, kitted forks, mullholand shocks, box section swingarm, laydown suspension kit......

Yes he was . 0 to 85 cc class 7 to 11. I don't have the final results just my certificate, the program, ticket stubb and lots of cool memories. Davey Coombs,Johnny Vandergriff from the Michigan bunch and Bullet Ben Theriot were in my class. Billy Liles and Billy Paxton were in the 12 to 15 85 cc class.


It does have the results from the 1975 championships in it though. David Weak, Richard Hardesty, Kip Bigelow and Darren Rhoten won championships in 75'

There were only six classes in 76 and 4 in 1975 in mX. They also dirt track championships at the same time.

The list of entries in 1976 125 cc class is amazing. Remember Gene McCay? Bob Hannah won that one! Jeff Jennings, Marty Smith, Marty Moates, Steve Wise, Mike Kessler,Warren Reid, John Savitski, Tony Wynn, Arlo England, Don Kudalowski, Mark Rakestraw, Mike Bell, Danny Laporte, Ron Turner, Broc Glover....to name a few!

I met Mark Rakestraw at my local trails in '79, when I was 15, and he was the one that convinced me to start racing.

Mark was a fine racer. I saw him in 1977 or maybe 78' at the St Peters Trans Am. He gave local ace Randy Sheckel a fit. Mark Barnett pounded the support class that day and "the Man" Roger D. won the 500 class.


I am not sure how he faired in the 125 National that year.

Hi AHRMA 361 , just finished nut and bolt 1975 Catalogue Perfect Build its in this months VMX mag, did you finish yours?
