Hey to everyone... wanted to let you know, today I got to ride my newest bike (KTM 300XC). This thing is a kick ass bike. It is so easy to ride, work through the woods, trails, climb etc... I weigh about 200 lbs with the bike at about 217 lbs and we were a perfect match, no problems what so ever. Addtionally, I cant say enough about the electric start on this 2 stroker! You wanna talk about a great addition to the bike, especially when you are standing half way up a hill side, looking up, and the bike is not running... so much for a kick start.

Long and short of it.. if you are looking for a new series of bike, the 2010 KTM's are super nice (although a bit expensive.. 7900 for mine before taxes).

And I gotta say, this bike would not be a problem at all for women either. It is amazing how easy it is to handle and throw around. My wife works it like its nothing.

Hope everyone had a great riding weekend!

When I get much older and more feeble Laughing I will have a 300 with Rekluse clutch and the standard e-start for racing motocross. I have couple of 'retired' moto buddies that have that setup and preach like Jehovah Witnesses about it.

Already told my younger buds they will have to help me onto the bike and be sure I am pointed toward the first turn...I'll be good, from there!

Have fun with yours.

If I was in the market for a new scooter, it would be at the top of my list.

Good luck with it. I see hare scrambles in your future for this winter. Let us know how it goes.

I also just purchased the 300xc. Spent Thanksgiving in Ocotillo with it. All I can say is that the bike is awesome. Coming off a 450exc this bike is light and flickable. Smooth power but still lifts the front wheel with ease. The thing crawls up steep wash walls with ease I think it may lug just as good as my 450 thumper. I couldn't be happier. Anyone who tries it comes of the bike with a jealous look on their face :-)

I've been lusting after the 300 XC since it's introduction. Could possibly be the perfect dirt bike.

I hope it's better than the 08. I only rode it on the MX track and I know that is not what it is designed for but it was a dog. Not at all what I expected from a 300 from KTM. My 98 CR250 would have killed it in any HP race.

Cygnus... your right about the MX part.. but I am sure with some fine tuning you could make it a killer as well. But damn, that thing in the woods in PURE fun, it feels like it weighs less than 100 pounds, and has plenty of push and just the right gearing for the trails.

You were going alot faster than you thought you were. You ride that 300 almost like a four stroke and it rips. If it isn't "snappy" enough you can change power valve springs and viola, instant bark.
