2017 ktm 350sxf won’t stay running

Need some help here: 17 350sxf with 46 hours. 
Was just cruising through a field other day and just stalled. I put new fuel pump in and changed the plug. Has really hard time starting and when it does start, it only runs about 3-5 seconds then backfires and stalls out. Any ideas would be helpful. Seems like a fuel issue but who knows. Maybe injectors or the fuel filter in the tank?? Wouldn’t think anything internal with the engine??

Make sure the pump isn't caveating   look for bubbles in tank while running  Where'd you get pump?

Symptoms sound like a cracked spark plug cap to me.  This is a very common issue and an easy fix, if that is in fact the issue.

I thought about the cap. Mine does have a crack along the backside not exactly on the cap. I didn’t think that would be the issue but I’ll check
