Looking for some input on suggested fixes for '17 Husky FX 350 that's suddenly decided not to run. Bike has 170 hours (mix of trail and MX track) and has never had any issue prior.

Normally start it every few weeks in the winter just to charge the battery...started it up the other day, it ran fine for 3 minutes or so then just quit and won't restart.

Symptoms:
- Fuel pump primes
- FI light comes on once then goes off and does nothing more
- Engine turns over
- Bike will try to start and backfires a bit if given throttle

Parts thrown at the problem so far:
- New spark plug
- New spark plug cap
- New injector
- New inline fuel filter

Things checked so far:
- Cleaned/tightened main ground under the tank (can't find the battery ground on this bike)
- Fuel pressure: 50 psi
- Unplugged kill switch (no change)
- Leakdown test at 160 hours came back at 3% leak or less. Valves are within spec.
- Disconnected tip sensor (no change)
- Fuses are both intact

Thanks in advance for any help or insights.

Did you replace the inline fuel filter?
Have you load tested the battery?

Is the fuel old?
A couple of months, but not like "sat for a whole year" old.

Inline filter has been replaced, yes.

Haven't load tested the battery. It's fairly new and has a full charge according to the charger, but I guess I don't know how to load test without the engine running. I'm electrically inept.

Connect a volt meter to the battery and then try to start the engine. While doing so watch the battery voltage on the meter with no load and then with a starter load and see the difference. You should have at least 13 volts with no load and then it should not drop below about 11.5 volts during starting. Anything under 11.5 volts under load is cause for concern. You can have your battery tested at Auto Zone.
FYI. A bike setting for even a few months can develop bad gas. This is due to todays pump fuels and the "E" content.
Did you replace the fuel filter on the fuel pump?
Have you checked for a good Blue spark at the plug?
Have you ohms tested the coil?

Thanks, Paw Paw - really appreciate all that.

Fuel is ethanol-free, but could be old I guess. Worth a shot.

Fuel filter on the pump was changed 10 hours back. Have run a fuel sock since hour 0 and change the inline filters religiously every 10 hours.

Have not ohms tested the coil or really checked the spark. It shocked me when grounded to the engine, but no idea if it was good blue spark shocking me or crappy red spark. I'll check that.

You got to love the fuel sock, as it is the very best thing you can do for your EFI bike....

Only asking this because I’ve done it... Air filter clean and not a rag stuffed in there that was forgotten?

Ha. I've done it, too. But thanks for the reminder - I checked.

I am having this exact same issue. Did you ever figure out the problem?

I did. Turns out it was the $26 kill switch that went bad.

Hmmmm, I'm getting spark so I don't think my issue is that. I'm leaning towards the pressure regulator on the pump because when I bump it, it leaks fuel into the tank even when it's open ended. So I'm gonna try to replace that and go from there. Thanks for the response!

If it’s fuel injected, then try looking at all of the pressure sensors, like crank pressure, air pressure, etc. most KTM products have problems where the sensor would stop working and the bike would try to start, but wouldn’t run. If it’s got 170 hours those sensors may be bad (if any)
