Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
Until his next factory ride requires him to ride SX and MX lol.
There’s the big question , will it include that , I could be wrong , time will tell 👍
A test the water, one-of situation in 2022 yes.
Eli had every intention of riding WSX, presumably with a team, in 2023 and in his quiet way made it clear.
The American MX establishment shit themselves.
It was only a major pressure effort by the NBC backed cartel that shifted him to $MX
Because he got paid big money to show up....these wsx guys paying big money to get riders does the opposite of legitimizing the series to me. At least with smx the riders have to EARN it placing well.
Wsx isn't going to last with their current business model of paying out a ton of money just to one rider and I think it's an insult to the rest of the riders in principle

Feld and DC knew they had to merge and add the smx to have any hope , personally I still don’t think it will be enough , sx only contracts have been a thing for a long time why people think that will change now I don’t know
I disagree , the model of wsx is a proven one in other aspects of motor racing , time will tell
Whos to say that Chase would get what Kenny is getting? Kenny made a multi year commitment and just might be a bigger draw for fans. The 3 years he committed to might be some of the reason he's getting 2 mill a year. So that he's locked in for multiple years to give the series some credibility. A single last minute season might not have the same value to the WSX promotor's. Especially when they already have Kenny for a 3 year deal. Kenny's deal could have as much to do with bringing fans in as it does with satisfying somebody who is writing the WSX people some bigger checks.
Yes You can say that Chase is more consistently faster than Kenny these days. But I think Kenny will pull more fans in.
I agree with you there , kennys a fan favourite for sure
Someone sure has an agenda..
Yeah...ok there wasn't testing of the waters he got paid a huge sum of money to show up for one race because it didn't conflict with what he was contracted to do. He didn't have a contract after SX but he decided to defend his outdoor title and race the SMX playoffs. He never had any intention to race the WSX series you are just throwing shit on the wall to fit your narrative. A factory rider racing factory bikes that is racing for major championships with race win bonuses, championship bonuses and doing it on the best factory equipment available isn't going to go race for a second rate team (some even shady...MDK) on non-factory equipment.
Now if Bailey were to change the dates to not conflict with the major series in the world he would have a product that the manufacturers possibly would support and more top riders willing to race.
No agenda here , truth be told I much prefer outdoors to supercross and would rather see outdoors grow , but sadly ama outdoors especially will be backwards from here
Factory teams typically have a #1 and #2 rider/driver. Jett’s speed and results have nearly relegated Sexton to the #2 spot, even after winning an SX title. And with KTM looming, Chase is undoubtedly weighing his options.
Honda likely wants/needs to field a two-rider team. It’s unclear if HRC management was completely on-board with Chase sitting out Hangtown, but no organization wants to pay people to sit on the sidelines. Sexton could still win the title if Jett suffers an injury, but Jett would remain Honda’s 2024 main interest.
At this point, both Sexton and Honda could agree to amicably part ways via a contractual buy-out. Honda would benefit from not paying two riders performance bonuses, and Chase would be free to pursue a WSX contract (which may be occurring already). I’d imagine Honda would want to restrict Chase from immediately jumping to KTM, and likewise Chase would need assurance from Austria that a deal was all but done (although Chase would have zero problem finding another high-salary agreement).
It is strange to discuss a team ditching a recently-crowned supercross champion. Then again, few teams ever had the luxury of having an even greater talent waiting in the wings. It’s an atypical situation that may generate atypical results.
Win the title and some races there’s your 2 million. On top of your salary already. WSX already hired there one and only guy at a rumored 2 million a year. They can’t do that with everyone. They have there one ringer. Why would teams compete against 2-3 guys that get paid by the promoters? One is bad enough, multiple? The teams would find a legal loophole and pull out.
I read all of that for the comedic value. Classic. Thanks boys.
Lars said that Chase is shooting to be back for Highpoint but definitely by Red Bud....you can now put your conspiracy theory to rest...
I think Chase is happy to take an easy summer, making sure he’s fresh and energised to give that KTM every bit of concentration and effort come testing and January ‘24.
I wouldn’t imagine he’s motivated by outdoor/SMX money right now, he’s got plenty and will make even more if he defends his SX title next year.
We never know how close these guys are to burnout.
If your chosen profession had an 8-10 year window during which you had to earn enough money to basically get you through the rest of your life would you take time off in your prime and pass up easy bonus money?

Chase isn't going to WSX, plain and simple.
Put your tinfoil away and see ML's post above....
He's one of these guys that can't put hatred for anything American behind him and think clearly without bias...as facts don't seem to matter...
But should he consider it? Or are you saying it’s not even an option due to contractual obligations?
I ask because my day job revolves around contracts and financing. We’re constantly searching for levers & leverage to redirect cash flow and maximize OPEX returns. Unless Honda has Chase by the short hairs, he should be actively investigating options, including whatever WSX can throw on the table. Jett has made things uncomfortable under the Honda tent, and Chase could use 2H23 to regroup, refocus, and basically make some serious money in 4Q.
For someone inside the industrys opinion , can you see more contracts becoming sx only in coming years ? Especially the guys around the Webb Anderson age bracket and racing both series like roczen 👍
How’s this going don
