Following along on another MTB tech related thread but this one probably deserves its own, this small device allows you to have some form of measuring head impacts. I don't work for the company, just think it is a neat idea.

I won't be able to answer any technical questions, feel free to email them at info@hitrecognition.co.uk or hit them up on their social media accounts, I'm sure they would be happy to talk tech about their device.

Possible real usefulness?

But with current helmet tech there is very little direct impact to the skull. It is my opinion that the injury is a result of the brain impacting the skull.

I'm not sure measuring how 'hard' my head hit the ground would have changed the outcome of my tbi & repeat head injury. I doubt doctors would have told me to hold off from getting back on the bike after 8 months if that meter read a certain G rating. I would have been okay if I never had the repeat, I didn't even get knocked out. It was far less severe but a history of concussions and being so soon after the tbi really did me in. Perhaps for those who have less severe concussions without cognitive/physical effects it would help convince them not to get back on the bike sooner than later, or hearing stories like mine.
