21’& 22’ CRF450 and 22’ CRF250 Backfire mesh.

I’ve always removed the backfire screen on my bikes so I’m wondering if it’s okay to remove on the new Hondas?

It’s just screwed in but the thing that concerns me about removing it is the fact that there is no air filter cage as there would usually be with the cage element being an external piece of plastic that goes over the outside of the filter..

Would there be any issues with the filter collapsing during wide open throttle?

I like to see what’s going on inside the air box because I change filters regularly when riding and want to make sure nothing is in there.

Anyone else removed?

I’ve removed the backfire screen in my 450 and had issues with the filter collapsing during my hard sand motos.  So what I did do was put the cage but in but I removed the mesh from the cage. It’s only glued on so I peeled it off and screwed it back in.  Haven’t had any issues and I’ve put about 20 hours onto it.

I see No Toil sells a Cage called a super flow $70 and also Twin Air sells a real elaborate set of cages that looks really nice but it's $300 !!!!

Has anyone used the No Toil Super-Flo kit? Curious if theres any noticeable difference. I do like the Twin Air style though for better sealing which might be the better option.
