Aprilla beat them to the punch.
The real question is would the AMA make a v twin legal if it was a Harley.

Only if it was also given a displacement advantage as well.

I would imagine in Italy , just like last time ( as were the HD 250 and 350 GP road race bikes).

Harley could not give these away near the end. I was young, but even still the 799.00 closeout price was tempting. I suppose I would have ridden it and screwed it up, but in person that machine looked like the real thing. I'll never forget it.

I ended up buying the 1982 Eddie Lawson replica kz 1000 instead. it was a Kawasaki/Harley shop.

I would if it was competitive not a novelty. I mean look how close Cannondale was on their first try.

The one things the japs had when they were breaking into the off road market was there wasn't a bar set yet for what to expect from a off road bike.
