Moving cross country

Also the reason for my move is my physical condition. I just feel so much better in the heat especially the dry heat. It can be 105 with dry heat and feel better then it feels here in buffalo at 80 on a humid day. And also feel a lot better in the winter 60-75 degrees with the dry heat. I have a spinal cord injury and still can’t fully walk again and my whole left side is smaller and when it’s cold it gets a chill and doesn’t work well. As in my left hand won’t open all the way up I get really bad chills etc. Not for anyone to feel bad for me i know there are a lot of bad ass people on this board that are way worse than me just trying to explain my situation.

Looking at the move around march but I’m at the point where I have just enough stuff financially(furniture and shit) it’s worth moving it out there but almost to the point where it’s going to cost me the same price as it would to sell my stuff out here plus about 10k to have all new stuff. Everything in my new place(the one ingot this year) is new as of 8 months ago. Ideally be nice to sell it all and it’d be a simple answer and lose a little money and get all new stuff without the hassle. Other thing is where I’m moving to i don’t really know anyone so it is where we I’m too disabled to even drag a mattress around let alone assemble a whole new house of things. If I were moving in the summer I would just live in the rv if I had a toilet in a friends lot or something. Feb 27 my lease ends here so I’ll be in my Rv but hope to be on my way west and have my furniture stuff set ups in terms of moving.

I can’t start selling my belongings in the town homes right now because like I said I’m unable to really comfortably live in the rv once things start to go in my condition doing the stairs. Shower and toilet.

Going to be a rough few months but once it’s done it will just something that pushed me out my comfort zone n the miserable days will be behind me. So just trying to get advice how you guys move cross country and any single bit of info will help me.

I honestly don’t think all my belongings will even fill 15-18’ of his enclosed trailer. He loves riding his rv out west so I was trying to figure out how he could just drive that home and sell the trailer out there. But renting a u haul one way that’s a box van was around 3/4k without fuel. He will make the drive there and back for me but just trying to make it enjoyable for him. Maybe find some bike rally’s on the way for him to hit w his bike in the trailer even though he makes fun of guys who trailer there bikes lol.

Buffalo ny to central az. Still looking at homes but have food ideas.

I’ve traveled the country back and fourth way too many times for Moto. Never to really sight see. I’m anxious to get out there but it may be a trip with a lot of detours to see all the touristy places I’ve never been before and driven right past.

I can kinda live with just about everything. I guess it’s just putting pen to paper and adding the expenses of what I have vs how much to buy new. Then think about the things I won’t even be able to use out there due to the lay out etc. Sure is going to be a shitttt time to move from ny as it will prob be anywhere from 0-30 degrees and snow but it is what it is. I can’t do much lifting let alone carrying stuff so getting volunteers is going to cost me more than beer and pizza lol.

I don’t see myself getting out there any sooner than middle march. Hoping to get there in time for the Glendale supercross.

Got a couple months atleast to figure it out so getting the ball rolling early and impatiently waiting.

Flying out to check out exactly what area next month. I know I can’t afford Scottsdale unless I want to buy a one bed one bath apartment.

More research done it looks like “pods” can move there container around 6k with one month storage. At current fuel prices I think it’d cost me around that with my dad driving his cargo trailer there and back. He’s retired and loves traveling the country. Also when it all gets there he will be able to move stuff in and by then I’ll try to meet more people out there to help out. I will just make sure I save enough room in the enclosed trailer so he can take off from there and then ride his Harley in new places and maybe pay $1,000 more but have help un loading, dad have a little vacation and be able to spend some good time together. Worse case if some furniture doesn’t work out I can still sell it out there for the same price as here and we both make a journey out of it. Just hoping when I fly out there I like the area as much as i think I do.

Containers like storage containers or moving containers? The thing is with my disability it’s hard for me to drive much more than a hour and a half. So it would be nice to make a couple trips back and fourth but also the diesel prices are crazy.

Then my dog…. She loves everyone but wants to see everyone. I can’t walk from the airport entrance to even the closest gate without having to use a wheel chair. So her pulling me etc would just put me in much more pain. Then on the flight she would want to be on my lap (she’s a small dog) but even at home I don’t let her lay on my lap due to the pain it causes me.

So it makes everything a million times worse for me. Thankfully we’ve had a great November in buffalo so far. But on the cold days so far we’ve got I can’t shake the cold, with my spinal cord injury my left side doesn’t want to work and also my body shakes as if im going through some sort of withdrawal. So 120 degrees is much better for me than anything under a damp 50 degrees.

The biggest thing im hoping with this move is the weather. When it’s 95 degrees in buffalo I have no complaints as I can turn the ac on when I get in. But when it’s rainy or shitty under a certain temp it’s hard for me to open my left hand, trying to get out of my truck my left leg doesn’t want to work so it looks like im drunk even with walking aids etc. So the heat maybe I’ll Sweat my balls off but my body will work at it’s own 100% which isn’t really 100%.

So when I fly out there I hope I enjoy a area out there I can afford and one good thing is I know I’ll always have friends who will come around and push me around a supercross as long as Glendale continues to hold supercross.

Also will be trying to meet people around the area and see the tracks. I’ll never be able to ride again but when I did race I held lots of training schools and loved teaching riders from minis all the way up to a couple pros that were much better than me at my prime which really makes you feel good.

Yeah I like being out of the city but close enough I don’t have to drive more than 15 mins for a meal or drink. I typically don’t cook being single.

I was told stay away from el mirage after I showed the realtor two houses I really like there.
