Thought I had picked up an 02 KX 125 but after ordering a new carb boot for the reed side, i found out that it must be a 99-00. Even though the bikes are mostly the same from 99-02 they had different carbs and different boots. The one I need for the 99-00 carb is no longer available and hoping someone has one laying around from a part out?
Also needing linkage bearing specs as I would like to get them from a bearing supply house vs ordering a cheap all balls or pivot works set but i am striking out on finding exact details of what i need.
01-02 got Mikuni tmx carbs. 01 got a 36mm and 02 got a 38.
99-00 had kehin carbs.
Grab a boyesen rad valve once you figure out the exact year you have, they come with a billet boot and one piece with there reed valve
The issue is I already have VForce 3's and just ordered replacement petals... this was when I was assuming it was an 02. Now finding this out, swapping them for a RAD valve with that set up might be a better option. Didn't realize the Rads came with a billet boot. The Kehin carb is what gave away that my bike is actually a 99-00.
Yah I have the vforce 3 as well but put the rad valve on it for the billet boot. You’re good tho, I thought mine was an 02 as well but turns out it was an 01. 🤦🏽♂️ bought some upper fork tubes for an 02 and wouldn’t fit in the clamps 😂
Yup i ended up sending my replacement vForce reeds back and ordering a rad valve, was the simplest and most cost effective fix so i really appreciate the suggestion! Was able to combine the carb info with the VIN number and figure out that mine is a 2000.
