Well I was doing some research yesterday on my house, long story. So I call down to the county to see what me and my neighbor are paying in tax per year. The lady tells me my neighbor if paying 1500 or so more than me, that seemed fucked up so I start looking it to it more. After all day on the phone I find out that they fucked up on recording my plat and the legal record shows that my neighbor owns half my fucking house. Looks like I'll be able to get it fixed but I'm sure it's going to cost me a few thousand bucks.


Moral of the story..? Government will fuck up the simplest task.....

You can't get a straight answer when dealing with the government. So I just got back from the surveyor, a working dude who has to answer to people all day long and do his job correctly or it's his ass. It's not a problem with the plat, the tax assessor screwed up, another government shlep. So now I gotta go fight those idiots.


Even notice how every time you go to town to do something, their automatic initial response is "No. You can't do that"...?

DIrect TV is the worst. They couldn't care less when I called last week and complained about VS. Just said sorry you won't be getting VS anymore. I said "If you can't afford to pay Comcast with all the crap paid programing that runs at night you can shove my subscription up your ass". They haven't shut it off yet.

It is always someone else's fault. Like the kid that stole the camera from my house, and then broke it. When My son found out and was going to beat his ass, he returned it. We asked him to pay for it and the moms response was, "well there is some question as to if it worked when he got it " . It was our fault for letting him in and the police said pretty much the same.

Not a title issue Dave it's a tax assessor issue. Title is correct, plat is correct, survey is correct, part wall agreement is spot on, tax assessor fucked up. Try to keep up.

I am surprised you were able to get through to a live person, and they were not all on lunch.

My experiences with the Govt employee's in New jersey was they were either, "not in today" "in a meeting" "at lunch" or, a standard recorded message.

If it weren't for the lady at the title company and the surveyor both who I'm friends with, I'd still be on the phone getting the run around. You can't anything done dealing with the government. You have to figure things out for yourself and pin them down, with no wiggle room, to get them to do their job.

Title companies do run-sheets on the ownership history to verify the title is clear and free of encumbrances or liens. Usually its the lender will order a site survey to ensure the improvements are indeed on the land on the deed and that they are not encroaching on building setback lines or even someone elses land.
