Are people starting to care less about certain things that once meant something?, things you would do in your leisure time because it was fun, I'm even starting to find this sport less interesting, our entertainment sucks too, gone are the greats from that business, the originality and quality too.. People are unhappy for various reasons and short fused, and I can't see it getting any better, everyone seems to be in survival mode now...

Big Lenny ... it sounds like it could be depression … read up on it if you haven’t already … and if you feel it’s appropriate go to your family doc … and tell him/her exactly how your feeling

Btw: not being a smartass.. this is genuine concern

Sounds like you are just bored of a specific routine.

Go find something new that seems really cool to you. I thought I was depressed in high school till my parents got me a guitar. That shit was cool.

You can draw right? Why not take some art classes and further your talents?

Don't get me wrong I still love the sport but the internet has killed it some for me. When I was a kid I couldn't wait to find out who won the race. Hell at times it could have taken a couple of weeks to find out. Not to mention how long it took to get a mag. to read about the race. Now you just have to turn on the computer make a few clicks and you know more then you wanted to know about the race 10minutes after it's done.

Exactly, nothing to look forward to, and that's with a lot of things

Anytime I have ever started to feel bummed about anything music has been the cure all. Thats one great thing about loving so many different genres, there's always something that makes everything feel new again with a fresh perspective.

As long as I have my vinyl records, cassettes and CDs that contain the music I love, I could giveashit what the latest crap the mediocrity-machine is trying to sell to the sheeple. I rock out every day just like back in '76. Same with moto, I got my 2-stroke Zook and Im a member at Rio Bravo and I will go fog mosquitos and do it like I did back in 1977 with cool guys like Whknuckle and BigMaico who understand where Im coming from.

Get back to your roots fellas !

Great post lenny! I have noticed I barely go to the moto section these days because it's all what if this or what if that or bashing a rider.

and Hollywood? who do they make these movies for these days. I actually feel my IQ going down as I view films these days.

I think you are talking about the general sense of things in this country?

Seems like this nation has become shallow and self absorbed? We don't have to try anymore. Life is too easy. We are complacent.

There is a general apathy and angst but overall we have it pretty good.

I would be happy with a few more ridings days! In the bedroom and at the track! I am simple I guess!

we do have it good. We have it great actually.

We have two wars going on and it doesn't affect the average persons daily life. We are in a deep recession and most folks are still overeating (me included Sad ). We drive whatever vehicle we want. Live in houses 3 x the size of our parents with half as many people.

We are soft.

I struggle with the same thing Lenny and I think its because I am getting older. You feel like you are running out of time to do the things you want. When you are younger you are not so concerned with making a mistake here or there because you feel you have time to correct the situation.
I saw my Grandfather and Dad go through the same thing in their mid to late 50's and they were both really positive people.
Taking my kid riding or racing still gets me up though and I have been trying to do a lot more of that recently. Think I am going to buy me another bike soon just for the hell of it.Cool

Both these posts kinda nail it down for me. I think I've been dealing with depresion my whole life. Now that I'm almost 50, married for 25 years and just about have all my kids raised. I look back and think how I've fucked up in so many ways through out my life. I feel like I could have done so much better , but now it's too late for me to really change anything. That said, I know I've done all right ,all 4 of my kids have turned out pretty good and I have a great wife and a really solid marrage and a roof over my head all these years and a few toys in the garage! Maybe I souldn't be so greedy and be happy that I'm still here with my family intacked and be glad that I done what I've done and have what I do. Maybe I'm spoiled, for not having a fucked up family life, yes I think so. I need to stfu now.

I know a guy that heads down to Costa Rica all the time. He gets sun burned on fisihing trips and hangs out with hired 17 year olds. He loves it. So maybe even for a doucher it is the place to be!
