I was wondering about Febvre and his weekend at Loket. I’ve just read that he felt sick already on Saturday and get worse during the night, he couldn’t keep any Food and only got one hour of sleep. He gave it a try but was totally drained after 20 min of the 1st moto and together with the team decided to not line up in the 2nd moto. He should be fine at Lommel I think.

Same for Van Horebeek. Started the first race with a fever, and couldn't line up in the second.

Also a Great story btw, he paused riding for like 2 years after being mentally spent from the sport, and now coming back in big fashion. Love it. Great kid with and a great family. I was actually rushing out his jersey prints on Thursday and Friday before the race, Glad it helped Smile Smile Smile

Very good result on mostly stock (looks like) bike. It has something to do with Martin Kohut?

As far as the bike goes. Fairly stock, I think they have a limited KTM support through the dealer, but its mostly parts and bikes. Other than that, all add-ons are the usual ones from sponsors around. Mostly shops though. But I have to say that www.osickamxteam.com is very solid effort. Great team!
I recall the year 2010-ish when Martin Kohút had stellar offseason and was battling with MX1 guys in internazionali italia championship in march... Like not being off the pace of phillipaerts by that much... And then practice crash on his track and whole season lost. He never got back to that form. That was his year, but cut very short by injury.

Last year looked like Jošt's career year. Not gonna lie i was expecting a bit more from him this year. Did he get injured in Loket? It looks like this year is Tomas' career year but we will see.
Osička MX bikes are on good level for czech nationals. But also if Petr Rathouský can make a things happen on stock engine, ecu, exhaust and tuned suspension then maybe the bar isn't really high for competetive machinery in czech nationals. Grinning

Yeah you are on some point here. It's either the lack of competition (the empty gates is problem all around the world) or the bikes are so good these days that to make 250 bike race ready needs a little less that it used to?. Hard to tell. What is for sure, is that when you look generally at Czech or Slovak series the field of talent is pretty shallow. Without the old dogs, or some not so frequent Hungarian, Polish or Austrian guys, there would be 3 guys running the front rows for years.

Martin Kohut was super talented as well. He has experienced some BIG races with BIG dudes. As you mentioned not far off their pace. But I guess as we see it again and again, it's difficult to keep it consistent. They just ride on the very edge... They need to practice and ride with such a competition on regular basis, which is just so difficult.

Speaking to Tomas, or others, just to attend the race, they need to spend around 1000 Euro just on the entry alone. And even if you do good and get points, you never gonna get that back, or actually anything back. + all the money to even get there and race... How is this sustainable?

One good thing on this MXGP circuit are all these classes. Tomas Kohut also races the EMX Open championship on 450. Its only 6 races all in Europe, and he currently sits on a 3rd place overall. Its cheaper to get in, its not so much travelling, but there are some OLD BIG DOGS there + some emerging talent. So I think, its wise move to get as close to the best racing without going broke.

As far as Simon, I feel pretty bad for him. He is really strong, but I feel like there was a little too much pressure at him, especially when you grew up on that team from being a kid, now is the time to show it all. I believed his time would come in 450, he just seems built for the bike, and he had some great results in, but at the same time its just a whole different category with complete different beasts of riders Smile But he will eventually get there. In Loket he injured his back, but not sure how serious. I guess he just had to sit out the GP and will be back in no time. He is built like a tank Smile

I love what I'am seeing from Petr Rathousky, very solid rider, still very young and has a very consistent year, he has bright future as well. There are few others also Adam Dusek in CZE, in SK we have (looks like) Katrinak. I just hope these guys get as much support as they can possibly can, to show up at these MXGP events, that's the only way they can progress.
