Acerbis Chain Guide Extremely Noisy??

Edited Date/Time 2/21/2022 6:52pm
Just swapped from a PC chain guide to Acerbis. This thing sounds like playing cards clipped to my sharp rear tire back in the day. Are they supposed to be this loud? Not running oversize chain and I just geared down on my rear sprocket from a 50 to a 49. No recent crashes and the spacing on both sides of the chain is good. 2019 KX450

Mine was extremely noisy as well on my 250FX. Check alignment and make sure it’s fairly straight. They just make a lot of noise in my experience.

Had the same experience with one. Can’t recall which year, but it was also a KX450.

I just fitted the same one to my KX450XC. Sounds pretty noisy. Guessing it’ll wear and get quieter.

The Acerbis Chain Guide is one of the first mods. Also a 19 KX450. I have had fantastic results with this guide. Both durability and performance. Noise has never been an issue. I also run a 116 Link chain, moving the axle back in the swingarm for better traction and suspension performance. Stock gearing. I would also check your alignment as other posts have suggested. Not sure what the alignment is on the 49T. Good Luck.

On my 2019 kx450…….the stock stuff is quiet but wears quickly. I use the tm desigworks stuff and it’s incredibly noisy. Especially the chain roller
