Nice! Do you have much planned for it?

I was discussing with a buddy to get a 125 or 150 a few days ago!

Not many updates lately. The parts I’m waiting for was stuck at ISC Los Angeles for 10 days, but it’s finally on its way to me. Hopefully going through customs in Norway will go smoothly.

I got a few needles for the carb today. I have AJ’s jetting in the bike, but I am curious to see if i can get it running better. My needle is now on 3rd clip (needle 42-75) and I’ll see if 42-74 and 43-75 will work as good or better. The reasoning behind this is very simple: why not try?
Have you checked your Jet Block Gasket??
I ordered one from Germany it’s from JD Jetting i read there are Problems with the OEM Gasket .
Just for safety

I want to try the “Graham Jarvis Mods “ to my Mikuni TMX 38 read a lot about on Thumpertalk

My jet block gasket is fine, but I have a JD gasket in case it gets damaged.

I tried the Jarvis mods and kept a few of them. I drilled holes in the drain bolt plug, drilled holes in the splash guard and set float bowl height. I run pretty close to AJ’s jetting specs, but a 35 pilot and 540 main jet instead of 32,5 and 500. 43-75 needle third clip and S4 needle jet. I also notched the slide, but I bought and I am using a slide called 5.75. It works great! Cheerful If you want it I can find the slide and file and get some measurements for you. 🙂

Not a whole lot per say. General refresh w/ some bling and cool parts. Just want to make it a strong reliable bike for off-road racing. I’d have Cone Valves and a Trax shock if I wasn’t on a college budgetCheerful

No need to put a shitload of unneccesary parts on a bike that already performs well! Smile

I would be happy with my bike bone stock. Hell, I am happy just to be able to ride as much as I do with a very time consuming job, a 1 year old daughter and a girlfriend.

Tbh, I think people overrate CVs and Trax setup. It is extremely good, but I felt the most difference on the forks. The stock shock is very good and can be set up to be even better. Even the AER 48s are good IMO. I was very comfortable and happy with my stock rear shock. Aside from the damping, I feel more safe on kit suspension since I can predict what bike is going to do in most situations consistently. If you case a step up or double I know the bike wont kick out to either side and stuff like that and OJing anything is a breeze compared to stock.

But I wouldnt buy it if money was an issue or if you are not interested in tinkering with suspension! Wink

Finally some progress. USPS is so slow. There are paints that dry quicker than how fast they ship stuff.

Will post some pictures after I get the time to get in the garage.

Oh, I bought a VHM head this weekend aswell. Will be cool to see if there is any difference.

Well I had a mishap at the track and blew my fork seals out/tweaked the bar mounts. So we are in full winter refresh mode now a little earlier than I was planning. Dropped off suspension back at FC here, got some Pro Taper SX bend bars I will throw on and will do an entire refresh of all plastic/decals. All the parts should be here by Thursday so will throw it together hopefully in time for weekend.

Finished at last!

Took two photos of it in the dark. Let me know if any of you want better pictures. I will gladly snap some better shots of the bike in daylight.

Here’s a list over what’s modified or replaced with other parts:

Plastics: Race Tech
Graphics: Made Inc (swedish company. Killer products)
Seat: Selle Dalla Valle/KTM Powerparts
Triple clamps: WP split clamp
Bars: Renthal Fatbar 36 with 934 bend
Fork: WP Xact Pro
Shock: Wp Xact Pro supertrax
Wheels: Talon EVO (why these? When the rims wrecked you can replace them with Excels with the same spokes. And they are cheaper and stronger than most other offerings)
Brakes: Brembo SXS
Sprockets: Dirt Tricks 14 - 49
Chain: Renthal
Front sprocket dome washer: Dirt Tricks
Cylinder head: VHM with insert no. AE32272-E (Not pictured. Expecting it later this week)
Exhaust: Akrapovic
Pipe: Pro Circuit works
Footpegs: Raptor titanium

I like how it turned out. Looking forward to install the head and jet it properly with that head.

How did you manage to blow the seals out and bars at the same time. It sounds painful!

Good for you! It’s fun to work on your bike! Cheerful

Very Nice Hylo!!! 2 questions... the decal on swingarm and ford guards you got from Made Inc? I am looking to add some color there/update from the stock look/decals and like those pieces you have.

Beats me lol... no I hit a table and came up slightly short with front wheel high (slap down landing but the front wheel didn't touch until the bottom of the landing (short short landing area) and my front end knifed hard. Over the bars I went but thankfully ninja flipped myself/channeled my inner Shimoda and managed to not hurt myself at all minus some scrapes. Gladly will replace bike parts over body parts so all in all thankful. Suspension had 40hrs on it as well so I'm not as bummed. Still crazy though as I've had some crashes but this one did a number

Yup! Its a set from made Inc. Here is the entire set!

I read on Instagram that Shimoda called it a sushi roll. Laughing
Good you are alright. I think you could have ended up much worse than a few scrapes. Last time I did that I saw my life flash before my eyes.
Worst crash Ive had was a highside in a left sweeper i 4th gear pinned. But for some reason I did not let go when the tires got traction. I slapped down face first to the ground. The helmet was in bits. Visor, mouthguard was gone and a huge crack in the shell front to back on the middle. I’ve never been right in the head since then. Silly Just kidding, but that really made number!

Did the rubbers that are holding the handlebar risers survive? They are like cryptonite to me. One small crash and they are crooked.

And thank you! Glad someone else than me like the bike! Smile

Awesome, will check them out!

I think mine was more a sushi roll & slam :D. I definitely thought it wasn't going to be pretty and had those thoughts run through my mind as it happened.

The rubber bushings so far look ok once I loosened up the bar mounts entirely and took them off... but as a precaution and since I am doing the refresh, I bought new rubber bushings just to get some piece of mind and it's cheap.

You inspired me to pull an all nighter and completely refresh my bike in time to ride Horn Rapids MX last Saturday :D! Started at 3pm after work, finished at 4am and went directly out to track with buddy to ride at 10am... never again lol!

Parts:
Pro Taper Evo SX bend bars, bar pad
ODI Grips (OEM)
Luxon Gen2 Bar Mount (Coming tomorrow, actually did bend my in the crash after all!)
Factory Connection resprung shock, rebuilt as well
Factory Connection re-revalved forks, rebuild as well at 40hrs on old oil
Complete clean and regrease of every bearing on bike
Polisport plastic/OEM (full swap including battery box, radiator guards, etc.)
DecalMX graphics again (same as my last set) just refreshed
Used CarPro Hyrdolite 2 ceramic/silicon coating on all plastics before install just to test it out instead of the old SC1.

Cool! You shouldnt get inspired by me. I’m a hopeless case! Laughing it looks great!

How did you like the sx bend from pro taper? I am curious on the Luxon stuff. The stuff those guys do looks awesome.

I like how you mounted the tire to the subframeCool Grinning

Are those Dunlop decals? Where did you get them??

Haha, well makes two of us :D!

I so far love the Pro Taper SX bend bars on the KTM from the stock Neken. Now does it make me faster/better? haha... I first tried them on my friends YZ 250F and it was really comfortable. I am 5'9" but the bend and feel so far (3hrs seat time) feels good and I had a few slap down landings.

The Luxon bar mount shows up today, I will definitely post some photos of the stock vs Luxon and install tonight.

Tire had to be put on the back to keep the bike from falling off the stand!

I used a paint pen on the Dunlop logo :D

Usually more comfy = faster IMO.

Yeah, do it! Wanna see those mounts!

I got my last package today. 3 delivered actually. Some stuff for the carb, including a very weird needle. 6GAY65-74. It is weird since the taper is completely different from the std 6BFY needles that comes stock with the carb. I tried it briefly up and down the street and it is very rich on 1/2 and WOT. Strange needle.
A pro taper throttle tube, some grips and a set of cylinder gaskets.

I’ll be in my garage tonight as well. Laughing

I use it too, but its a bit modified since the climate isn’t the same in Norway as you guys have over there. As of now its 5,75’ slide, 32,5 pilot, 44-75 needle third clip and 520 main.

Greatly appreciated! Have fun!

Got the Luxon Bar Gen2 Mount in today (ordered and delivered in < 3 days standard!). Top notch quality as you will see from the fit/finish, to the packaging and instructions.

Out of the main packaging, had individual wrapped components to keep the finish perfect, a nice detailed instruction sheet as well with step by step guide.

Lightly assembled

KTM OEM bar mount

Grade 5 titanium bolts included vs KTM OEM stock

Install prep... loading antiseize/threadlocking to entire thread/underneath bolt head

Bars are straight again Smile . Torque on these is significantly less than stock OEM due to Titanium/antiseize compound [24Nm for 8mm bolts (2) and 12Nm for 10mm top bolts (4)]

Compared to the old bar mount that was tweaked even after disassembling and installing new rubber bushings

Finished product... only to be covered shortly by the bar pad Sad

https://www.kfm-motorraeder.de/cms/en/genuine-spare-parts/kawasaki-spar…

Take the part number from AJs thread and go to your kawa dealer. Smile

I currently have two slides for the bike. One 5.75’ and the stock one I cut with a chainsaw file (I dont remember what size of the file now). The one I cut myself has - bigger cut than the 5.75. It is a bit leaner (bigger cut is more air) and works well in 5-6 degrees celcius. If you want the dimensions I can give them to you.

Jesus those were nice! I am very impressed. Looks way better than the stockers.

Bar pad ruins it tho! Laughing

I get some parts from Ceracoating first time I try it but I’m very happy with the result

Thank you! The ceracoating looks really good. I was thinking of sending a few parts too, but the budget said no..

Jesus those were nice! I am very impressed. Looks way better than the stockers.

Bar pad ruins it tho! Laughing
Yeah are really nice, but yeah slightly bummed you won't see it with the bar pad unless it's first moto and I am checking air/etc. :D.

Looking forward to riding the bike this weekend, are you taking yours out to ride? I am also using the 5.75 slide (Kawasaki part) from AJ's thread.
