Long story short my sons best friend decided to buy his first dirt bike (19 KX 250F) and after riding the bike we noticed the front forks were very harsh. He is a beginner and weighs 150lbs.

I backed out on the preload and compression to 18 and rebound 14. It helped but it's still not great. I think a revalve may be in order.
FC suggested keeping the stock fork spring .96
PC recommended .90
Race Tech recommended .84

Has anyone had experience with this fork?

Thank you,

Take/ship those forks to any reputable suspension shop and have them inspected/rebuilt/revalved/sprung for the the boys weight and ability. Factory Connection would be my first choice. No amount of advice on here or adjustments of the stock fork are going to really help him based on his weight and ability.

Common problem is SFF forks. Need a revalve & sometimes a piston change to fix.........

I was thinking about the fork issue again this morning. Is it possible the forks are binding? Did you undo the front end and properly set the front axle? So many people (and I've seen them straight from dealers) that are not set up properly.
Here is a decent link for reference https://www.morgantownpowersports.com/forkbind

I need to clean the glaze off the front brake pads but yes I also thought about that and will be checking. In a few weeks we plan to have the forks resprung and revalved

At minimum, suspension needs to be resprung. i weigh 155 and settled on .88 fork spring and 4.9 shock spring. Fork Preload set 0-4 clicks from all the way backed out/softest. I tried .92 fork springs as well but preferred the softer sprint.

I still have both the LRV-088 fork spring from Factory connection and PC 4.9 shock spring from when I sold the bike. My new bike needs new springs, shoot me any reasonable offer and they’re yours. If interested. Pj726e@aol.com

Hello pCp 252,

I hope all is well!

I tried texting you a few times but never heard back. We are interested in the springs.

Thank you,
