2008, James Stewart gives Kawasaki their first perfect outdoor season. The worst, 2009, James Stewart signs a SX only contract and doesn't even attempt to repeat, and everyone is getting hurt..

The 1998 250 (now 450) nationals. There were what 6-7 different winners? and Doug Henry won the title.

Between the boot covers and the highlighted bi-level haircuts, it looks like gay night at Studio 54

For U.S. MX as a whole 1973 the first year of the USGP.

As far as the equipment itself 1975. Almost every manufacture offered a vastly improved product over their previous years bike.
There can be no single winner for competition.

Like what? I don't remember much change in Jap bikes.

The Yamaha MX series
The debut of the Suzuki RM's
The Husqvarna GP series.
Maico brought out an incrediable bike in mid- 75
All of the Spanish Marques were improved for 75
And least we leave off the red Framed CZ's.
The most important thing was that LTS became incorporated into the manufacture of almost every dirt bike built that year

I've been attending nationals since 1985 and I can name my favorite season with little debate. 2006 with RC and JS both riding faster than any human should. Something from every race would leave you in disbelief of just how fast a person could go on a motorcycle. There were times while watching them go around the track so fast it just didn't look real. I'm as amazed by riders at the races that make you go Wow! as much as I am by actual wheel to wheel racing. The 2006 season consistently had both.

Penhall and Lackey were the real stars in that pic. Amazing feats back then for those two!

Can't forget Magoo's performance, at the MXDN and TDN, getting stung by a bee, which he is allergic to, and still layin' the wood...
