, Idle issues, On the throttlebody a yellow cold start button was hanging up badly, I guess from moisture and dust I had to lubricate it and get it to work. And then I did the proper throttle adjustment for the manual. But to get the idle correct it says the screw the coldstart in all the way and then back it out 35 clicks to a maximum of 68. Which I have done. MyIs
Do I turn it in and back it out 35 clicks with it pushed in and engaged or pulled out. And according to my research the red idol knob on top of the throttlebody, should be adjusted out 3 1/2 turns from fall in. My bike Is idling better, but not as good as it could be. I don’t have much experience with these throttle bodies. Can anyone help, who has more experience and knowledge in this area?

Did this come on suddenly?
How many hours on the engine?
Cam chain ever replaced?
Have you checked the TPS setting?
Have you cleaned the injector?
How old is your fuel pump and fuel filters?

Yes it came on suddenly, the fuel injector was just cleaned it has a new timing chain and the valves have been done, and that was all done at a shop and they reset the TPS twice and check the voltage it has a brand new fuel pump and fuel filters plural. When I picked up the bike after all the service I told him I wasn’t happy with the idle but they said it was all right I’m just trying to get things to smooth out a little bit, It does idol OK now, and on the track it rips no problem there. Just when I back off the throttle, the idle takes a few seconds to drop down to 2200. It’s just one of those things you notice when you get to know your bike. I checked for air leaks and tighten all the screws on the boots and the throttlebody.

You still need to check for air leaks in the intake system. You can do so with the engine running and by spraying carb cleaner on each joint to see if the speed changes when sprayed. If it does then you have found your leak.

I definitely will. The way I understand it any air leak coming to the engine, can make it go lean and when it goes lean it raises the idle. Like when you run out of fuel in the gas tank. Is that correct? It’s kind of like a balloon you can’t have any pinholes! Or it effects engine operation and RPM.... Thanks
