Husky Airbox Lid Holes?

I ride west coast offroad in some pretty long/dusty events and wondered if it's worthwhile drilling the cover on my stock FC250.
I don't have a spare cover for now, but might end up with one (one closed and one drilled cover).

For those that have drilled their airbox covers on this model, please let me know if you have any suggestions on the size, placement and backing (foam?) of the holes, if any.

I drilled similar to abaove then RH side inline with holes I drilled in inner airbox. On LH side I epoxyed screen over holes to keep larger chunks out. Wasn't sure how it would hold up but doing pretty well so far.....
