Never tried it in a dirt bike but I imagine if you could still hear the revs it would be pretty fun to blast around with your favorite tunes. I get out on my street bike every weekend and always have my iPod going. I have a 1,000+ songs and just hit shuffle...love it

I have the cardo system rigged in my helmet for trail riding with buddies. We’ve used it for coms mostly, but we have also listened to music. Doesn’t seem to work out. I’ve also ran AirPods while trail riding, never really ended up working for me. My godfather always rides with music. It pumps him up and he has never had any issues with it. Obviously I think we all know you shouldn’t listen to music riding track. But hey I’m not the fun police. You do you bro.

When i quit riding on the street, i swapped my Sena onto my dirt bike helmet. Generally only used when riding unidirectional single track (no concern of head ons).

Replaced my helmet a while back and the Sena doesn't fit and haven't found a good solution. Ideally just 2 round speakers like the Sena uses with a battery and bluetooth so i can do volume and songs by my phone.

Head on would be the least of my worries. I have never heard someone coming at me on a trail before I saw them. My only concern is not hearing a faster guy coming up behind me.

Years ago there use to be a company called moto mp3. Was a small mp3 player that hooked to back of helmet and the speakers hooked to the inside of helmet. Music wasnt to loud can hear everything going on around you but still enough to pump you up before gate drop. Used for awhile but one crash shattered the mp3 player and that was it.

I can't say i've ever been put in a bad situation from someone coming up behind me on a trail ride. Someone revving the bike to get my attention to pull over doesn't concern me where a bike running into me at 30 mph does. I haven't had anyone come up from behind and surprise me with or without head phones in recent years and I do not play music when racing where people are riding more aggressively.

I'm not running ear buds either which i suspect helps a bit, they were placed behind the foam in my helmet so exterior noise does get in.

Tried it out this weekend, rode Saturday and Sunday woods riding at maybe 80% pace. The only problem was trying to hear people when we stopped because my watch was also recording the ride and I didn't know how to pause both. I was using Apple AirPods and they stayed in my ear and I felt smoother riding and had a great rhythm.
