Anyone on here homebrew?

I did for the first time a while back (probably 3 or 4 months now) and the beer turned out surprisingly good even for my first batch.
I've had lots of people drink it, and they've given some to their friends... it was an IPA so hoppy was the design. Some people didn't like it because of the hops, but those who were into a more bitter beer said it was really an enjoyable brew.

I know there are a few who brew, just curious as to if any others have dabbled in the art and have any stories/advice/ideas to share about styles or brewing, or whatever.

I am going to bottle my first batch today. I did an amber ale. Kinda expensive to get started . I ordered a wort chiller and will do another batch when I get back from Cooperland. I am already to buy a used fridge off CL so I can brew some lager. I will probably do some wine for gifts around the holidays too. The same equipment works for wine.

Advice:
1) Clean your stuff well, a bleach/water solution works as well as the high dollar "Cleaning solutions". Never use soap!!!

2) Stick with ales for a while until you are comfortable, and your success rate is close to 100%...Jacking up a Lager will piss you off.

3) Bottles are a pain in the ass. Start kegging as soon as possible.

4) Hops are good.

5) Clean your stuff again.

6) Hops are good.

So, you doing kits, or full grain mashes?

Needs another 21 days or so to carbonate. You will have to wait till memorial day to sample it.

Good advice. Especially the kegging. A day or two after transfer to the keg and bingo, you got beer and no yeast hassles.
