Aleister Crowley, Tim Leary and others created the hippies, along with about 1000 musicians. It was a mindset, marching to a vision that they alone had created.

Throughout the ages, wise men have looked at reality and sought to conform their life to it through righteousness, faith & discipline. Modern man seeks to make reality conform to his vile passions through the efforts of science & technology.

What happened to the old hippies? They didn't all move to Woodstock to become organic gardeners, many of them assimilated into politics and began to push their ideas from that platform.

Damnit Dougie, I knew it was you all along!

Seriously though, if more people in a position of power would worry less about re-election and keeping freinds in their circle of power, we would all be better off.

I remember when in the late 60s when the media was going to Laguna and SF and filming hippies and it was all over the network. It was usually some clown from somewhere else that went and got a vest with tassles and had a flower blah blah blah. It was a category created by the media because man likes to do that , categorize things. Laguna was where all the dealers went to get their drugs at Jack In the Box on PCH. Yeah Leary was there with Crowley dancing and some fat girl with big tits and frizzy hair and those tops that had elastic around the top so she could dance and shake her bra-less tits around. And 10000 musicians, an free love...... what a movement..... oh wait that was this am after coffee.

Dear Sob. I was taught the Word of God. I also try to encourage people when we meet together. What do you think of John 15:16?

Thanks,

Yep, they think they saved the world with so called civil rights and womens rights.

"civil rights" = crime and drugs out of control and a mainstream ghetto culture.
"womens rights"= 50% divorce rate and broken homes.

Now they are taking on "Gay rights". Look for a continuing decline of American culture and morals.

Nice going hippies and your kids.

Public schools are indoctrination camps for libs.

It’s partisan politics that has locked this country up and taken it down the tubes. Both sides could care less about what’s good for the country and will do what ever it takes to keep or place their party in power.

The blind sheep citizens of our country and their wasteful votes are what’s taking this country down the tubes.

As long as we're pointing fingers I think the main reasons this country is going down the tubes is the Global Economy driving down the price of wages and the H1 visa program.

And while Im talking about the H1 visa program, if its so good a program then why dont we consider an amendment to the Constitution whereas a foreign born person could attain all the offices of our Government to include the Presidency? I think many if not most of us will agree no matter which side of the isle we stand even if its the middle of the isle that the choices we are presented with each election cycle are always undesireable and in many cases come with lots of skeletons in their respective closets. We are a country of only just over 300 million people and its become quite obvious that in that small sampling we cant come up with even one decent candidate. Why not then just import a candidate. India and Chinas populations total well over 2 BILLION people. We could certainly find a few in that mass of humanity that will be good candidates. And we could get them at a fraction of the cost.

you must be in high tech.

Illegal immigrants do to blue collar workers what H1b visas do to American high tech workers. They are both problems that need to be addressed.

No actually I was a blue collar worker (handyman with a general B contractors licence) who kept losing jobs to contractors that used illegal laborers. The above post was just me being sarcastic on the one hand and on the other just saying if H1 is good enough for some jobs then why not all the way to the top? I think if more people higher up the pay scale realized that one day soon their jobs too will be in jepordy that then things might begin to change. In the meantime its a E ticket downhill ride for the USA.
