2001 RM250 with 2004 RM250 motor. Help needed!!

I bought a 2001 RM250 for $400. Long story short, I’ve been rebuilding everything on the bike every single bearing, chain, sprockets, brake pads, front and rear masters and calibers rebuilt, rebuilt forks and rear shock and full rebuild on a 2004 RM250 motor....FYI 2001 motor case half’s were broken. I pick up a 2004 full motor for $100 it needed a new crank so I rebuild the whole motor.

Now for all the problems I’m facing. 01 air box/boot dose not work with the 04 motor. I’m searching for a 2004-2006 air box the oem’s are on backorder with no eta...If anybody knows where I could find a air box/boot 2004-2006 that would be awesome.

Im using the 01 carb for now but plan on getting lectron carb for it later. The issue I’m having is the 04 wiring harness/cdi dose not plug up with the 01 carb. So I’ve ran it on the stand with the 01 harness/cdi it runs fine but the only thing I don’t like is the 01 harness has a solenoid for the power value. The 04 doesn’t have this solenoid. I would like to use the 04 harness I’m sure the timing might be different from the 01. On the carb I was thinking maybe cutting the plugs and buying my own plugs to be able to connect and disconnect. I’m not sure what to do there. Any suggestions?

I want it done right. If I would of known the difference between the motors,carb and air box I would of looked for a 01 motor but I didn’t and now I’m invested in the 04. If anybody know a of 01-06 rm parts for sale other then eBay. Please let me know. I’ll post more pics later to show the difference between airbox/boot and carb plugs when I get home.
