I left Friday at 2:00 to head towards "Anniston, AL" to pick up my new bike. I found out that it would be close to Millcreek MX park. I've heard a few good things about that track, so I got 3 friends to go with and they brought their bikes...
I pick up to friends and we head to the 3rds house. He wasn't getting off of work until 2:15 so I figured we could load his bike up for him...I open his garage door and a freaking dog takes off like a bat out of hell. Come to find out...he was "dog sitting" his father-in-laws miniature Schnauzer. It headed to the highway at 300mph!!! Me and the 2 other guys take off after it. 2 miles later we catch up to it and one guy tried jumping out of the back of track to grab the little shit. He caught his foot on the tailgate and fell to the ground. Some cuts and bruises later, he was ok!! After 2 hours of trying to catch the thing, we said screw it and headed out.
9 hours later we got to Anniston to meet the guy. The bike was even better than I expected. I paid the guy and we got a hotel room. It was 1:30 and we had to be at the track by 8:00 for practice. The track was 35 minutes from where we were staying...
After getting a good 4.5 hours of sleep, we woke up to 42 degree temperature...so it was off to Wal-Mart to get a sweetshirt. We arrived at the track to find an AWESOME layout with a good deal of elevation. We went to sign up for practice ($20.00 for the first class, $10.00 for the second) to find that we had to have an AMA card. $39.00 later, I'm once again a AMA member. We got to do a total of 6 practice sessions (3 for each class). It was absolutely awesome!!!! That track is a blast. I've never been on a track with more lines than it. All the jumps were "safe". I paid $79.00 for practice...and I couldn't have been happier!!!!! The day was perfect with it being around 78 degrees. Around 3:00 we loaded up and headed home....what a great trip!!!
33 hours gone.
19 hours in the truck
6 hours at the track
1050 miles on my truck
AND A NEW BIKE IN MY GARAGE THIS MORNING!!!!
Here are a few pictures...
Keep in mind it's been since September since I've been on a bike...and yes I'm fat and have no style!

The Supercross track was completely flat!! It looked like a football field.
Yes, it was a race weekend.
I relate.
Glad you got to go ride that sweet new scooter.
It actually was a race weekend. It was a SCCS race and a Southern AllStars race this weekend. That is why the extra cost, just did not want you to think that it our normal cost for a practice weekend. That is what is charged just for a race weekend. The reason for the Supercross was flat is, MillCreek recently hosted the ATV National and the pros like to park were the Supercross track was. So they flatten it and will build it soon.
Today turned out to be pretty good. Actually it rained on and off most of the day. But the track ended up being pretty decent. Wished my son had a better day though. In one of his motos he got bumped into, fell over and then completely ran over by another rider. He has a lot of road rash from the bike running him over. Also, he may have a fractured wrist. I will be taking him to the ortho tomorrow. The bike looked about as bad as my son did. Will have to check the extent of damages on it, when I my husband gets back into town.
You probably remember me as a real nice guy in person...but don't tell anybody here. I have a reputation to uphold!
I'd definitely go back there. Next time it will be there one day...and Monster the next.
