This was sort of buried in Jason Weigandt's section of Racerhead #46.
From Scott Wallenberg of RacerX.
He's trying to find out if anyone knows anything about this rider from the 1962 Austrian GP. It's an American rider in the Premier class. I, for one, who has been following MX for more than 40 years, can't believe that I've never heard of this guy. And I rode weekly with guys that rode for Bud Ekins in the 50's and had been riding from just after WWII or earlier. I even have a personally autographed copy of "Ride to Win" (one of the earliest bokks on Off-road riding printed in the US). I hope someone that is a Vital MX regular from here or overseas can help solve this mystery. Thanks.
Here is the photo of the rider named "Ray McCarty". Also shown are the pages that show the rider listed as # 29, riding a Lito (good bike in it's day). Can anyone on here help?
