Mike Alessi is a talented enough rider and has been racing long enough to figure out where to go faster. I am stumped at why he was going so slow through them also. Villy, Millsaps, Sipes, Lawrence, and practically everyone else was blazing through them. It was painful to watch him get passed so many times through that section. Not sure if it was bike setup, fatigue, or lack of confidence. I guess we have to ask Mikey to know for sure.

Its been a while but now that you all bring it up big riders have always handled the whoop and rough sections better than the small guys, just ask Jeff Ward. He went on strength training for years and actually became quite strong , like a little weight lifter or body builder he was quite stong. dont forget this example!

He did not look bad in the whoops. I was standing right beside them and so every lap.

He did have some laps where he looked slow but not every lap. If he would have sucked through them he would not have cracked the top10.

By the way, the KTM 's lites bikes looked better through the whoops than all besides PC.

The reason I say the whoops are bad because I rode them before in Daytona , there are like little jumps in a row of 5 you need some stregth to handle them.

It's all about confidence. He lacks it and that is why.

Seems to me like MA needs to run lower bars. It stands him up in the corners and jerks him around in the rough stuff. Its a tough habit to break but it may help a bit.

it is simply confidence through the whoops...plain and simple.

how do you get it? can't expect you simpletons to know because you have never raced before. but you can get it....back
