JL kept the lead for some time, he was smart to let Reed by who is the points leader, maybe would have taken JL out if he didnt.

In the first race of jason lawrence he has already finished better than everyone except, Chad Reed, James Stewart, Josh Grant and Andrew Short.

At the most 3. He was on the inside so he would have slid around the inside anyways.

Are you guys kidding me..??
Watch the video again. He slid to a stop to miss the carnage. By the time he stopped he was already inside the tuff blocks.
If you really watch it the only guy to make a hard left turn across the track and cut it was Ferry..

I can't tell how many he passes because the video doesn't show him entering the track or a good enough view of how many got stopped up on the outside of the turn.

I do know that if any of you are counting, Windham, Poto, Reed, Hill, Stewart, Byrne, Short, Tedesco, Hepler, Sipes or Millsaps, plus a few other bikes I can't see numbers on, in your number you are complete jack asses because they are all stopped in the first corner.
if you count them in your number then you have lost all credibility as a fan of this sport.
The next thing you will be saying is he should have waited for all of them to get up and take off before he went.

How many spots would Ferry have gained? If he wouldn't have got stuck on the tuff block.
I think J-Law re-entered the track in the safest spot available, had he not he would have plowed through a few camera men.

I agree this this number
3/8/2009 2:09pm
Well he came out in 4th or 5th.... and given that at least 5 were on the ground already, I'd say he gained about 10 spots?

I don't think he had any other options....Ferry's didn't work out so well....

I just watched the vid Bobby posted earlier..It shows him pull through the tuff blocks just as Windham pushed through the inside...I would assume since he was the next one behind Windham he would have come out behind KW... What position was that?

Windham came out in 6th. So at best he gained 2 or 3 spots. But to say that he has to wait and see if Windham is going to make it through and then go over the tuff block and follow him is absurd..

he slides to the left and sees a gap to avoid the crashing guys in front of him, and enters back on track using the shortest route, i think it is a natural reaction, and if the ama looks at it as the best option to re-enter, i'm fine with it.

i think if the start went as normal he would've been 5th-8th or something, using the inside line, so i say 5 spots.

Haters will find anything they can. He got 2nd place. Better than anyone here could ever dream of doing.

All I know is the kid shocked the world with his practice times and his 2ND place finish. He is on the box no matter how he got around the first turn pile up.

I just checked the official AMA lap chart for last night and Kdub was 6th at the end of the first lap

and Jlaw who was 5th after the first turn was in 2nd. So I guess Jlaw actually advanced one position by cutting the inside
