I didn't have anyone to show me, other than watching other kids. i learned to ride bicycles completely by myself. I remember it quite well. I was 4. never had training wheels or anything. first motorcycle I ever rode was Z50 that a friend had. he let me ride it. no parents around or anything. just took to it like a fish in water. dumped it a couple times and that was it. it was on like Donkey Kong. i was in 2nd grade by then. so 6 or 7 years old. I rode that Z50 almost everyday that summer...

I don't know how much you can show a kid. there so good at just picking stuff up. I bought my 3yo nephew one of those Yamaha YZ pedal bikes (not the vintage ones). he just got on it took off. a month later we took the training wheels off and he was good to go. I never gave him any advice other than to stay out of the street. he's 4 now and he zips around like he's Gary Ellis. (old reference for you BMX guys)
